Braces...do I need them? ***PICS***?
I hate my 2 front teeth. One is in front and one is in back. They're not over lapping, but it annoys me. I guess it's like, too crowded? That's the only thing, other than my, I guess, bite it a little off. Like, it is a little bit more to the left. Here's a pic:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a143/peacepalace/myteeth001.jpg

It's kinda hard to tell. Would braces help me? Do I need braces? Would they help?

I have a dentist appointment soon so I will def. ask him then, but I was just curious to know before hand.

Oh and I'm 13 (almost 14) if that helps any.
Additional Details
Haha. No, it's not plaque. I have white spots on my teeth...I think the dentist said it was from too much fluoride or something.

I would say "No" to needing them. Can't see the problem you are describing. Perhaps you are too self-critical.

I would definitely wait until the dentists. HE does that for a job so he is your best choice. They don't look to bad from that picture but there might be something else involved so I am not one to give you the facts. Your best bet is a dentist ot orthodontist...who do that as their job!! =]

Only an orthodontist looking at x-rays can tell you for sure.

My son had twisted teeth when he was 10. The ortho said "Don't worry, they'll straighten on their own in a couple years." He showed me on the xray that the roots were all lined perfectly. He said the teeth had to straighten just to fit in their proper place. He was right.

My daughter, though, had gaps big enough for her teeth to come in crooked and stay that way. She got braces.

If you only have minor problems, your teeth can probly be straightened with Invisilign. Its way cheaper than braces.

Well they don't look terrible or anything, but the front teeth over lap just a tad and it looks like one towards the back on the right side is pushing towards the front.
Ask your Dentist he can give you the best advice. Here all we can tell you is what we see.

get a referral to an orthodontist to first see if it effects your bite, if you find that it is just cosmetic, then i would see if retainers would correct the problem. I actually think your teeth are very pretty and don't need them.

I don't think you need something as drastic as braces. It isn't very noticable. You could get a retainer though if your dentist recommends it.

You can get corrective retainers instead, it's a lot cheaper and a lot less painful. I've had braces, they're not so fun.

I don't think you need braces. Your teeth look fine. If you have alot of money then why not get braces they make your teeth perfect. But I wouldn't get braces if I were you.

You're teeth are fine.......I'm glad you didn't post a regular picture of yourself on here!!!
The reason you think this way is because you are a teenager -- I used to think I had a big nose (all through high school) AND I DON'T!! Go figure.

It's hard to say as we can't see any of the teeth but in front. There are still half of them we can't see that could have a bad malocclusion. My son's teeth looked great like yours then we found out the uppers and lowers from where yours end in the pix, didn't come close to meeting and he has a 3rd degree malocclusion, the worst there is. He's been in braces over a year, & I just had them removed because he refused to brush his teeth and keep the braces clean like the orthodontist wanted. Now he can pay for them when he gets out of college and is making good $$$. I tried.

It's a matter of personal opinion. If you ask me, I think your teeth look perfect. No one has absolutely straight teeth and certainly no one is going to be staring at your teeth for as long as any of us have looked at the picture you provided to pick out insignificant flaws.

It is normal for you to be overly critical when comparing yourself to "the ideal." If your concern over your teeth is causing you unnecessary anxiety, I would talk to your dentist (or dental hygienist) at your next appointment. If your insurance will cover the cost of orthodontics, you might as well go through with the braces--you wouldn't have anything to lose. Braces would correct your front teeth (I'll take your word that there is a problem there; I would have never guessed it) and angle your bottom teeth out (they kind of look like they're all slanting inwards very slightly). I'm certainly not an expert, but you asked how they would help your teeth, I am giving you an honest answer.

If you want to really get down to it, believe me when I say that I truly think you have very pretty teeth already. It would not be worth the hassle and expense if you got braces.
