Blood in the urine usually indicates an infection in the system, and you can pass blood cells without the urine looking bloody. If you are male, and there are only a few red blood cells without bacteria present, and the culture is clear, the most likely explaination is a small tear in the urethra. That may have been from something like working out, running, or even sex. If the doctor suspects something other than infection, he'll ask you to take life easy for a few days, and then repeat the test. If it clears with rest, then theres the answer and you are on your way again. If there is still blood, then they will go looking for the source. They will check for stones, enlarged prostate, and have a look at the bladder and urethra via fiber optic scope. If you are a young healthy male, though, the explaination is more than likely over exertion, either in sports or in bed. I did physcials for the military for years, and this was not an uncommon occurence at all. I'd say 98% of the time, this was the reason. Don't sweat the scarier possibilities just yet, wait to see what the doctor says.
