when you say bumps, i'm thinking tiny bumps on your skin, around your nipples.... this is normal. Anyway, if you have a lump in your breast, this can also be normal. A breast is muscle and fatty tissue, it's not a smooth mass. It's when you have a lump (which would be harder) that didn't used to be there or noticable changes in your breasts. Also if your nipple becomes inverted or your skin starts dimpling, those are both signs of breast cancer. Anway, to ease your mind, I'd go to the doctor. Then you can also discuss what's normal as opposed to abnormal. He or she can help you to know what to look for while doing your monthly self breast exam.
Also, unless the doctor is concerned, they probably won't even do a mammo.
But don't worry because you are probably just fine.

I just answered somebody else with the same question, here we go...
Not at all, more than 4 out of 5 breast lumps that are biopsied are benign, and that's not even counting the many lumps that don't even need to be biopsied because they are obviously benign or normal.
The whole point of the breast self exam is to notice any new lumps which do not go away on their own after your next cycle or get noticeably worse. If that's the case, then have your doctor check it out. Depending on your age, you may need to get mammograms or ultrasound exams which would give the doctors a much better picture (literally) of what is going on.

On the outside? Or the inside? If you feel any abnormal bumps on the inside of your breast, then you may have breast cancer. In either case, you should go to your doctor. Immediately.

There is such a thing as benign it means the lump won't hurt you, but definitly go to a dr. or hospital. A mamogram will get a better picture of what is going on inside

Is your mother a doctor? There are many types of lumps and bumps that breasts can have that are not at all cancer. They could be cysts, harmless tumours, fibrous matter, etc.
Make an appointment and have an exam and a mammogram. There is every chance that it is something harmless.
Good luck to you, and don't worry. Even breast cancer now has a 97.9% cure if caught in time. Go now; and don't put it off, dear.

Go get a second opinion, immediately. Doctors do make mistakes, they are human. You may just have cysts. I have known of doctors who have misdiagnosed cancer. So, please get a second opinion!!!

It could be but it could also be hormone changes (during your cycle you will get lumps and bumps in breasts). Go to your doctor and have a breast examination - they know the difference between a hormone lump and cycts/cancer. If they are concerned they will send you for an ultrasound.

Unless your mother is a physician and you have had a breast biopsy, there is no way for sure to know.

You need to get to the Dr.
Relax though, not all lumps are always cancer.
A friend of mine had one, & when they gave her a mamogram, the pressure broke up the lump, because it was just a collection of fat.

bumbs or lumps?
think of your boob of a bag of grapes.. if you feel a pebble or rock within that bag of grapes (while you're examining your breast) that's something you need to be worried about and go and see a doc.

Is your mother a doctor? Does breast cancer run in your family? Go to a doctor ... why are you asking people on Yahoo instead of making an appointment to be checked out?

You're mom has no right to diagnose you with anything.
See a real physician.

If your mum really said that then you should disown her and go find a decent parent.
All breasts have lumps, what you need to look out for is changes in those lumps. If you are really worried, go to the doc and get a breast examination.

Vulg!!! You guys always beat me to the draw!!!
Fatty globules are very common as are benign tumors and lots of other things that are not necessarily cancer. Just relax and go see your OB/GYN.
EDIT: I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT ANY DOCTOR WOULD PROVIDE SOMEONE WITH BOTH A DIAGNOSIS AND PROGNOSIS BASED ON SIMPLY A VISUAL EXAM. THIS IS BOTH UNBELIEVABLE AT BEST AND UNACCEPTABLE, EGREGIOUS AT WORST.

first off, that's a horrible thing to tell a child. you need to see a doctor. at your age, most likely it's not cancer but go see an MD anyway just to be safe.

I wouldn't be so quick to believe it is cancer. First, if you are concerned, go see a doctor. It could be that you have fibrous breasts. My sister has this and her breasts will get lumpy especially right before her period.
