Should I have a Hysterectomy, So I dont have to worry about it coming back? I am only 23 years old, I have 2 kids already and i dont plan on having anymore.....What should I do?

You need to discuss all your options with your doctor... |

I think it all depends upon how advanced the malignancy is. The uterus doesn't have to be removed for a minimally invasive cancer. Speak with your doctors. |

I had endometrial cancer at 31. I had one child, and I did not want any more children. I had the complete hysterectomy. I am glad I had it all done then because any surgery is difficult to get over. You can ask your doctor about preserving your eggs artificially. Best wishes. I am cancer free at 33. |

This is such a personal decision, so I can't tell you what you should or shouldn't do...only what I would do. I would opt to have a hysterectomy if I didn't plan on any more kids, especially if there is a chance (and there always IS a chance) that it could come back later. What a lousy decision to have to make at age 23. I'm in a similar situation...32 years old w/ uterine cancer, although I never got a chance to have any children. I will have a hysterectomy as soon as I can, even if there was a chance that I didn't have to have one, I would still opt for the surgery. My theory is....if there is no chance I can use my reproductive parts...why am I keeping them? Especially since I already have cancer. Best of luck to you in your decision. |

I went for the hysterectomy. Why take a chance with your life? |
