You go back when you feel like it! If you feel like after Thanksgiving is for you, then do it. If there is no rush, then take that time for yourself. I've my share of health issues and attended school. My school was only one night per week, though so I could handle it alright.
No, you won't have chemobrain! You still have all those smart brain cells!

Oh, I'm so sorry, that's a terrible thing to endure and you sound so young. Honestly, unless a radiation oncologist is online to answer this question for you, no one else has the expertise. Call your doctor and discuss your concerns, I'm sure he will answer and address your fears and concerns. Good luck to you, kudos for picking nursing, it's a great field to be getting in to (my daughter just got her bsrn and LOVES it)

If you hsve s problem with tirednes when working ask the doc for some of the new meds for that. Other than that, do what you feel like doing and are able to do. There is no such thing as chemo brain, the chemo was for your breast, not your brain.

Hey I sympathize with you I am only 20 but I had leukemia and had chemotherapy. I think that you should give yourself some time like the holidays to get better and then Spring Semester in January you will be in good shape. I took some time off and I am so glad that I did. Chemo makes things harder but not impossible..I graduated from college early and I am now in medical school. Good luck

Theoretically you could still be in school. My husband when through chemo, for Hodgekins Disease, in 1997 while he was in college.
I would talk with your doctor and with the staff at your college. Since you are in nursing school you may need to wait 6-12 months for your immune system to get back to normal.

A very heartfelt gesture of sympathy to you...I had a friend who's wife had chemotherapy for breast cancer and also removal of the breasts. She bought a wig and went to work the next day. He thought she was very courageous. She has since gotten promoted.
It depends on how you feel I suppose. Some people are still reeling from the chemicals and the whole situation. Others feel it's just another day. I don't know what I'd do if I were in that situation.

You can return to school as long as your blood count (WBC) are high enough to be around people. It's basically up to you when you want to return.
My son was diagnosed with stage IV abdominal sarcoma when he was a junior in high school. He continued with his school work using tutors and during his senior year was able to return to school when he felt well enough. Don't let chemotherapy stop you from doing what you want to do. My son completed all his high school requirements and graduated with his class last June. They gave him a standing ovation. He's now taking college classes and will probably be starting chemo again . . .
Go for it, and do not worry about Chemobrain . . if you want to be in school than just do it. :-)
