How did you find out you have cancer? Have you done any examination by specialty doctor?

No matter yes or not, pls tell your family ASAP. Cancer is more possible to be cured in the early stage.

You'd better know more knowledge about cancers. There is a good website "www.smile.org.au" containing symptoms, causes, preventions and effects of cancers, as well as a wide range of cancer therapies.

N.B. GO TO C A SPECITALY DOCTOR ASAP!!!

The best way is to get them all together to tell them. That way you don't have to keep doing all the crying and questions and answering over and over. When my mom had to tell her family she did it over the phone and she had such a hard time doing it over and over. It made her feel even worse. But I would tell them soon because you'll probably feel better with your family's support. I'm sure you will get through this and be stronger than ever!

Just come and out tell them. Call your folks, go over and sit them down for a talk. Give them all the information you have about what type, stage, treatment, etc... It is going to be scary, it is going to be overwhelming, it HAS to be done.

When my son was diagnosed we knew he had something really wrong so telling the rest of the family was not as hard as if the diagnosis had come out of nowhere. We needed them to know to help us care of our other 2 kids, and help us out with other things.

I assume you knew something was wrong anyway. Best of luck to you! You might set up a webpage for yourself at either www.caringbridge.com or www.carepages.com. Then you can keep everyone up to date.

I know how hard this is, so my thoughts and prayers go out to you. If you are close to your family, you could tell everyone yourself, or tell one or two family members, and have them relay the news. Do what feels right to you. There is no right or wrong way to tell them. In my opinion, the worst thing you could do is not tell them anything.
