MiMi2006	I think that it would be a great idea to legalize it. I know people that use it for medecinal purposes and I only wish I had when I had cancer. Being I did not like pain meds.I hear it would have helped with the pain. And besides who has ever heard of a pot ahead driver?? I have never seen on the news.."hit by pot head". Only DRUNK drivers. Most people that smoke this stuff don't do it and drive, I would say they are to stoned to get off the couch.LOL Any ways, I really have nothing against the legalization of this so called drug. I mean it grows natrual in the woods mostly. My great Grandma used to call it "wacky Weed" she was Indian. It grew with all the other weeds in the fields. Alcohol on the other hand is man made and it's legal!Also some 6.500 years ago in China the Yang-shao used hemp for their clothes,nets for fishing and hunting,and the ropes used in their earliest machaines. Because hemp (marijuana seeds) were a very durable fiber and strong.Plus it was used to cure things like worms found in animals and various other things. You would be suprised. Plus as others have said in their answers the government would make millions instead of spending millions on trying to keep it "illigal". This is only my opinion. But, I strongly believe that this drug would beneifate alot of people going through a terminal illness. Crime rate would go down a conciderable amount, jail houses wouldn't be full all the time,Judges would have more time for more important cases (like murder) and tax payers wouldn't be paying the price!! I have never tried it but in the event that God desides I get sick again one day..I hope it is legal because I would definately ask for it from my Doctor! ilikethickchix	legalize it. i dont partake, but i have in the past. for me it was far more managable than drinking and alot less dangerous. also, the talk of it being a gateway drug is lunacy. i think that people who decide to partake in drugs, much like spilled water, tend to find their own level. fool	i think legalize it (completely) for adults over 18. it would reduce BILLIONS spent on drug wars on marijuana. it would reduce crime and death rates in areas where gangs have territories for marijuana sale. it would generate BILLIONS and more likely TRILLIONS of dollars in taxes and domestic revenue for companies in the USA. right now its californias biggest cash crop by almost twice as much. grapes make 2billion a year. marijuana makes almost 4 billion (estimated. theres no way you can track it) it is not addictive, and is someones choice to smoke. ofcourse all the secondhand smoking laws would apply (like in california you cant smoke in a restauruant) and you couldnt drive high. theres really no reason NOT to legalize it. if not, people will just get it and do it anyway, and on top of that, people will die due to related crime, and billions will be spent stopping it (which doesnt work) instead of helping your community, which i would rather have. i dont have california spending billions on marijuana. id rather them spend it on teaching and municpal workers. Giggly Giraffe	It's a great place to snow board...kinda scary though. I'm not talking metaphorically either...It really is a great ski resort... That other stuff...well it causes more damage than cig's...mainly because of the way people take it in <smoke it>. Bad stuff. It's not addictive like nicoteen, but people do cause way more damage with the stuff. Legalize it NO WAY! We're already overloaded with drunk drivers...We don't need to encourage pot head drivers... bolichi	First of all, I lived through the 60's; anyone who did that has either tried pot or been a total outcast. I didn't use much of it and haven't had any for a looong time, almost 30 years (and I enhaled). So, I have an opinion. We have a law we can't enforce. That negates the value of having the law. I think tobacco does more physical harm than marajuana. I spend a lot of time in Amsterdam, in The Netherlands, where pot is legal, and I know a lot of people who smoke it, and I don't know of anyone with a problem because of it (I don't smoke pot there, either). When people say it leads to other drug use: Let's say somebody goes to his favorite dope dealer (I think they mostly have a cornucopia of illegal stuff to sell) and can't get marajuana, the dealer would just as easily sell something else, "Hey, try this, it's all the rage." Well, that's marketing. Dope dealers are not necessarily stupid. But they are dope dealers, and community enhancement is not on their schedules. So, in my opinion, why not legalize it and let the government control and tax it? That would be fine with people who approve of marajuana use and probably be the best (most practical) option for those opposed. Finally, anyone opposed to the use of marajuana for medicinal purposes should re-think his or her position. That doesn't make any sense at all. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
