any drug classified as an 'Opiate' can be derived from the chemicals obtained from Opium. This is an entire family of drugs, most of which are highly addictive and have profound physiolgic effects on the body. Avoid them if possible, and absolutely never use them outside of what a doctor prescribes for you, they kill many people every year.

Herion is the only drug with Opium in it but there are drugs that have opiates in it.Like Vicodon, dalatas,and Morphine..There for pain. Plus they are very addicting.
