Find a good reflexologist or borrow a book on hand reflexology from your local library & have a go at self -treatment, It's really effective. But difficult to explain without a picture.

Good Luck!

Cure constipation using wheatgrass. Mix 1-2 tsps of Wheat grass powder into juice, smoothie, salad dressing, or other food. Build up to twice daily over the first month. Best taken on an empty stomach and ensure six glasses of water daily. You can try out the other treatments as well on constipation.

You will not find a massage therapist who will touch you for those problems, there are contraindications to that type of treatment.
Try changing your diet, what you eat will cause constipation and bloating, especially white bread and white rice.

Any qualified Swedish Massage therapist will offer an abdominal massage. I'm curious to know where the person who says that there are contra-indications to "that type" of treatment got his information from, because it is not true.
If you are severely constipated, a massage therapist would more than likely advise you to go and see your doctor.
Make sure you are drinking plenty of water (2-3 litres a day). Eat wholegrain and fibre rich foods. Try to avoid bran in large quantities though, as bran is very abrasive to the walls of your colon. Get something called Linusit from your local health food shop (it's linseed) and sprinkle it onto your cereals, salad etc. Apples contain an enzyme that is a natural colon cleanser. Eat an apple 15 minutes before your breakfast every day. It will help.
But if you are severely constipated, I really would advise you to go and see your GP.

Most bloating /constipation is due to diet as some people have already pointed out.
Alternative medicine is about adressing the causes rather than the symptoms I would say.

Visit an osteopath. Also drinking a big glass of warm water helps your bowels really move.

Any good massage therapist can perform Swedish massage to your abdomen. In the meanwhile, consider the treatments available for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Often people with IBS have only one aspect of it - the constipated apsect, which makes life uncomfortable. Also you should consider CranioSacral Therapy as this treats the whole body, including the stressors that often are associated with constipation. Also, look into getting a Magnesium supplement in powdered form - Natural Calm or Ionic Fizz.

Forget wasting time, effort and money! Go to the healthfood store and get wheatgrass.

My mum had chronic constipation, wind and pain. Her doctor prescribed that sugary laxative (dunno its name) and was using it for almost a year. When I mixed her this concoction of awful looking green stuff she really thought I was trying to kill her. Two years later she wont go anywhere without it. And whats more she's 80 and takes it with plain water...What a tuff ol bird!!... I have to take it with apple juice.

start with 2 teaspoons mixed with fruit juice once a day on an empty stomach (for best up take of nutrients). Follow it with another large glass of water or juice, water is better and your body will probably be glad of it too.

I dont advise doing it on a work day, best to start on a friday evening, or saturday morning cos you might get a detox headache, and some seriously foul wind, but dont worry, its just the detox effects and should clear after a day or two, could be a few days depending on how much toxins are in your system, everyone is different.

Over the course of a few days, or a week, or two its up to you, increase the dosage, I take two very heaped desertspoon fuls a couple times every day ( if I can) in a glass of juice.

You should find your bowels kick into gear within a day or two of getting up to the 2 desertspoonfuls, maybe sooner, maybe not....again it depends on your body's needs.

Dont be afraid of it, no matter how much you take it wont harm you, unlike anything you can get from a doctor. Its just baby grass, but packed full of fibre and nutrients and brilliant for constipation. Its great for little kids too

This is something you should try to take every day, and your bowels will thank you for it, no embarrassing wind, cramping or bloating and a great mini detox every time you drink it. Its great for Irratible bowel syndrome as well.

A handy gadget is one of those mini blenders (freebies with the capuccino) cos it mixes the wheatgrass alot quicker than by hand.

Barley grass is another one, just as good, some prefer it. Then there is spirulina and chlorela, both brilliant foods. Thankfully the pharma companies cannot patent them, if they could they would cost the earth. You should check them out on the internet.

Hope this helps.

Dee
