If you truely have an ear infection, complete with fever, you're going to need a prescription, unless you fancy the idea of a perforated eardrum. If you're not sure, and you have no fever, try squirting Hydrogen Peroxide in ear with an ear bulb (baby section at pharmacy) to dislodge wax that may be causing you discomfort.
