The best is to use only natural herbs like valeriane ruths making a tea of it and drink a few cups dailt from it.
Also before you go sleep you can drink a warm milk with bee honey inside.It is good for sleeping.Do not recomend you any other medicine it is wrong to use it.

Before taking medication try to determine why you cannot sleep naturally. Is it stress or some other reason. Try to determine the root cause of your insomnia.

Sleeping aids and dependency kinda go hand-in-hand so be careful and look into some alternatives...
Try taking Melatonin (as stated earlier), I used to take this but it did create a bit of a dependency.
Try Valerian Root, you can get this at a health food store. I can't even take this, it knocks me out cold like i've taken too much NyQuil. It typically taken for stress relief but I think I am just sensitive.
Also, drink a mug of warm milk. There's something about warming milk that releases some enzyme or whatnot that helps you to relax and fall asleep.
Another thing to try is getting one of those nature sound cd's. I have one that sounds like the rain and I have it playing on repeat all night. I can barely fall asleep without it.
One last thing, get a good mattress and one of those curved memory foam pillows. My memory foam pillow is a life saver!
I've had sleeping problems and I just can't seem to shut my brain off at night. Ever since I got a memory foam pillow (it was a gift actually) I fall asleep in a few minutes. I can't even sleep without it and take it with me when I stay at hotels and when I am camping. I think a lot of sleeping problems stem from a bad sleeping environment.

Try herbal tea first. I'm not a health freak i just found if you try camomile tea with alot of sugar or honey (i have a sweet tooth) You don't feel hung over and wake up feeling better refreshed.

I agree with sad lady. Valerian root is all natural and works great. I take the capsules. It's available at your health food store.

best ever safe and natural is Melatonin, get at any store that sells vitamins. only thing is you must take immediately before bed and it has to be dark for them to work on your brain. works great for me.
