frpaget	I always use powdered alum (you can find it at the grocery store in the spices). Dampen the tip of a Qtip with some Hydrogen Peroxide and clean the area of the canker sore gently. Using the other end of the Qtip, moisten it with a little Hydrogen Peroxide, dip it in the powdered alum, and "paint" the canker sore with it. Allow it to dry before you close your mouth. Do this several times a day. Before bed every night, rinse well with Hydrogen Peroxide. Doesn't taste good, but works like a charm. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

classy1	deglycyrrhizinated Licorice or Dgl which is availiable at your local health store. and avoid chocolate,nuts,tomatoes,green peppers,strawberries and oranges and citrus fruits,because they can irritate and injure the lining of your mouth and produce an ulcer. Also,deficiencies of B vitamins often cause canker sores,also food allergies sometimes causes them as well. Milk sometimes alleviates some of the pain and as far as OTC medicines they have mouthwashes availiable at the local drug store ask the pharmacist, orajel mouth sore medicine is a temporary fix for pain as well.
