Panic attacks are the worst thing ever, I know, and they still scare me even after having them for years. This is what "helps" me: deep breathing, distraction/talking to someone else, not fighting it (though it's tempting) - just letting it run its course, (someone told me this one - keep your mouth closed the whole time you're having it and breath thru your nose), telling yourself it will pass, even though it doesnt feel like it at the time! Hope this helps a teeny bit, good luck! |

Sit down and lean forward, with head between your legs...concentrate on your breathing and relaxing your throat muscles so they feel less constricted. Personally, I think you may find medication to be a good thing. |

this may help: take a deep breath. inhale as much air as you can through your nose, then slowly exhale, counting to 10 as you exhale. repeat until you feel better. you should mentally focus on your deep breathing. if you can, closing your eyes and sitting somewhere quiet helps you focus. |

Go into a room that is dimmed or darkened, which will take your mind away from the stresses of the panic if at all possible Also the room should be people free. if that is not available. use your car or someone elses car. Practise deep breathing exercises during the panic and it will subside. Time is what will bring you down from the stress factor, then you will feel much much better. Close your eyes and think of something really relaxing A beach. A picnic something that has always had a pleasing effect upon you. |

It really depends. With a very severe panic attack I would recommend medication prescribed by your doctor. Severe panic disorder tends to get only worse if you don't treat it. If you have occasional panic attacks, do yoga and meditation. Learn deep breathing. |

Get angry. Stand up and tell it to kiss your ***. I'm not kidding. The more this thing thinks it can control you, the more it will try. Also, does your heart rate go up and not come down in cold weather? How about when you are scared? Exercising? In conjunction with this does your blood pressure go up and stay up? How often does it do this? Do you feel your face getting flushed during the day for no reason? If your answer to all of these questions was yes, then you probably need to go to yer doc and have him test you for cardiomyopathy and pheochromocytoma. NEXT! |
