Holistic health includes, body mind and soul. Alot of medicines are made from herbs unfortunately they put all the narcotics in them which make them dangerous. Doing a holistic way is by no means dangerous, there are good holistic Drs. who go a different path.

The meaning is natural, without the use of chemicals. Holistic relies on the body's natural ability to heal itself. For diagnostic purposes, they use irridology, compress for the elimination fo pains and strains etc. Today it is very high tech because of the amount of sophisticated machines. At one time, traditional medical practitioners used to fight the holistic practitioners tooth and nail but gradually they are beginning to realize that it should not be an either /or scenario but a harmonious relationship between the two. Since so many medical practitioners have made the leap over to the other side, there is less antagonism. In Switzerland, the government regulates and registers them.
Some have argued that traditional medical practitioners were controlled by the pharmaceutical lobby and that they felt threatened. They countered by saying that there was difficulty establishing dosage and regulations. Well, Switzerland has followed China's lead.

holistic therapy is therapy that treats a person as a complete system..... ie. mind body and emotionally. But also considers how they live and how that life impacts upon them.... environment etc.. Holistic therapy can and does regularly use mainstream medical treatments as well as various complementary therapies as support to them. For stress it may be ok to use a simle herbal cure or some massage etc, but for things such as cancer or hepc it may be more beneficial to use everything and everything including the kitchen sink. Beware the cranks that say you should never have western medicine as well as the cranks that say you should never have complementary therapy. I do acupuncture and qigong as well as massage etc..... i know that the world is about balance and believe that balance can be found in using both western and complementary medicines as and when necessary. Working on the strengths of both in order to allow people the best of both worlds.
