Try gargling with water and dissolvable Aspirin. |

Gargle with full strength Alkalol which is available from any pharmacy, but it's natural. I used to get sore throats frequently. Now whenever I get one, usually in the middle of the night, the Alkalol knocks it out every time. I hope you feel better. Kelley |

In addition to the great answers above, there is also a Vick's throat spray that works great to numb the sting. The only down side is that it tastes horrible. Also I find that if you take a hot bath and lay down so that your neck is underwater it soothes it for a while. It wont help the actuall problem but it will make it temporarily feel better. |

add 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp lemon juice to 1 cup warm water, sip gently. Any cough drops with Zinc and vitamin C in them will take down the inflammation, ease the discomfort and keep your throat moist. If you have Listerine, it is the best for killing the bacteria and got it's fame in early 1900's as a medicine for tonsillitis. Also, Vick's vapor rub keep the membranes moist when you breath it, thus relieving the stress and strain on the throat and helps keep the mucus expelled and reduces inflammation. Although people commonly only use it for colds, it does help as a Decongestant. Just make sure to wash it off in the morning before going out because it will open you up to much since it is also absorbed through the skin. |
