Snoring is not a joke, and it's not just a nuisance.
Snoring is often a symptom of a serious disorder called sleep apnea. This can damage your heart and even kill you. You need to go to a sleep clinic without delay - ask your doctor to refer you.
In most cases apnea can be 100% eliminated by the use of a night breathing machine called a CPAP. It might take a night or two to get used to it, but then you will not only not snore AT ALL anymore, you will feel much better during the day, too.
Please do not delay in seeing a sleep specialist - it's very important!

I realised that if I close my mouth when awake I find it almost impossible to snore breathing through the nose only.Try it.So I tried taping my mouth over with adhesive tape at night. It worked.Just be careful to be able to remove the tape easily by leaving a folded-over tab of tape. This may be useless if having a blocked or runny nose. But it DOES work.

People only snore when they lie on their backs; they do not snore if they sleep on their sides. Try strapping a rubber ball or something else to your back that makes lying on your back uncomfortable. During the night you will naturally roll over onto your side, thereby stopping your snoring.

You need something to stop you sleeping on your back! If you wear something in bed, then you can sew something into it that will stop you from being comfortable on your back. Or you could bandage something to your back, if you sleep in the nude. Not very sexy but neither is snoring!

haha, thats funny. get a boyfriend, and everytime you snore he should just turn your face to the side, you will stop snoring, if that doesnt work out, he should kick you, or hold your nose. That what i do with mine.

Hehe .. snap!
I've never been overweight and I know many snorers who are far from obese.
I had bought a spray from the pharmacist. It contains natural oils and you spray it to the back of your throat. It lubricates the back of your mouth and throat, and therefore prevents them from becoming dry and your tongue sticking to the back of your throat (which is what causes the snoring). It works very well.

i don't think that there is any natural way to help, my husband snores bad enough that i have to sleep with ear plugs, he has sleep apnoea where he stops breathing, he now needs a machine, maybe go see a sleep clinic and see what they can do cause all you might need is some sort of mouth guard witch will help. or surgery. Lying on your back or sides doesn't make much of a difference. good luck

Insomnia could be an answer! But less drastically, you could try lying on your side with a pillow behind you to stop you rolling onto your back.

Try not to sleep on your back, lose some weight, rub a bit of Vicks on your chest before you got to sleep, get those nose strips or you can get these things that you can wear on your wrist that apparently give you a little jolt when you start snoring.

I've tried a few things and the only one I've found is a mouthguard which brings the lower jaw forward. Posh name is Mandibular Advancement Splint. You can get them on the internet for about £25 so it's worth a try.
Good luck

I know there is a thing you can buy to tape on your nose.
I don't know how big you are, but some friends of mine stopped snoring when they lost weight.
Good luck! :)

Snoring is dangerous. Apart from feeling tired etc it can lead to a heart attack.
Go and get it checked out by a doctor who will refer you to a sleep specialist who will study your sleep patterns. It could well be sleep apnea (aka apnoea) which is a very dangerous condition.
Snoring is also common in overweight people or in people with excess skin around their tonsils. Your sleep specialist will check all of these for you.
