Have you looked at your diet?
You could have an intolerance to something like milk or wheat. Both are often the usual culprits in mucus forming illness like ear infections, chest infections, asthma and bronchitis. It could be something else your eating, but if there is some food that you just couldnt live without, then this is probably your culprit. Cut it out for a few months and see if there is any difference. Other things that might be bothering you, e.g. sore hips or joints might ease or even completely go away too, but this could take up to a year or even more.
With food intolerance we become addicted to the very thing that is making you ill.
Antibiotics might only be making a bad situation worse, because they wipe out the good bacteria in your stomach and then you are wide open to other illnesses. If taking antibiotics alway follow up with a course of pro/pre biotics to replenish your natural balance.
Hope this helps

Sinus infections are often brought on by allergies, that's probably why it happens every year. Try building up your immune system with heaps of Vit C & echicacia. Horseradish and Garlic pills do wonders and as others have stated, essential oils such as tea tree, eucalyuptus bluegum or Cypress french do wonders in a steam inhalation application.

Facial pressure points for sinus drainage, find your cheek bones & firmly press in and slightly up to help drain any yuky stuff out. It could leave a nasty taste at the back of your mouth as the gunk travels down the back of your throat.
Personally I wouldn't recomend essential oils in this case as these could aggrivate the condition if it were allergy related. I would stick to pressure points, very easy to do for yourself and loads of books available to demonstrate (hand reflex too) I daresay you could find a website, but as a techno novice I still recomend good old fashioned books.

Is that all there is?

Essential oils: Gargle with Niaouli at first signs of cold. Inhale Tea Tree vapors, massage chest and sinuses with Tea Tree drops in a carrier oil.
Rinse sinuses with saline solution, with 1-2 drops lemon essential oil in it, or use the saline solutions sometimes in special containers for the nose use, found in pharmacies.
Keep nose area skin hydrated with a skin cream moisturiser where maybe sometimes you put a little Tea tree ess. oil with it.

I hear ya talking, I just got over that. Try to relax and eat good drink water and avoid sugar. Im not really that up on natural remedies but I can sympathize with how horrible it is, and my sister and neice had it too!!! And as far as the antibiotics goes I always try to avoid antibiotics too.

The ony things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need
distilled water
sea salt
liquid Chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and Chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take Claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

not positive about this but as no one else has mentioned it...i saw something on oprah about a neti pot that dr oz was using to rinse out someones sinus. he just used it with salt or plain water and it goes in one nostril and out the other. might help with general health and maintenance in that area. check with a doctor first.

Hi. I am sorry you are experiencing sinusitis every year. That sounds very annoying. Antibiotics will only work if the source of the sinusitis is bacterial. Sinusitis can be due to viruses, bacteria, fungi, allergies, or other causes. Depending on the cause, treatments can include antibiotics, antihistamines, immunotherapy, or Corticosteroids. If your doctor does not know or did not test what the cause is and did not specifically tell you to take the antibiotics, I would shelve them for now. I hope you get a more definitive diagnosis!
Until then, below is some info about some stuff you can do at home to quell your symptoms. I copied it from mayoclinic.com, which is an excellent resource that can give guidance on both conventional and natural remedies that are grounded in evidence- based medicine:
Steam your sinus cavities. Drape a towel over your head as you breath in the steam from a bowl of hot water. Keep the steam directed toward your face. Or take a hot shower, breathing in the warm, moist air.
Apply warm compresses. Place warm, damp towels around your nose, cheeks and eyes to ease facial pain.
Drink plenty of fluids. Dilute mucous secretions and promote drainage by consuming additional fluids.
Avoid alcohol. Consumption of alcohol can worsen the swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose.
Use a humidifier. If the air in your home is dry, such as it is if you have forced hot air heat, adding moisture and clean air may help prevent sinusitis. Be sure the humidifier is clean and free of mold.
