my mother used to do that to me as a kid....after applying it to my chest and under my nose she put it on my feet....for the same reason people put Garlic in their shoes....your feet have very open pores...hence the sweat! dont know hoe effective it is but the last generation or two DID practice that! |

Sure, your feet runs to every part of your body. Try deep massage on bottom of feet. Also fill an empty pepsi bottle with warm water and put on chest, u may put the bottle in a sock if water is too hot. gargle with warm salt water or applecider vinegar and eat a spoon of Horseradish. massage the chest area and lightly tap chest also. |

The answer to this has to do with the energy lines, called Chi, in the body that end in the feet. Also, all organs of the body are represented in the feet - lungs, heart, brain, kidneys, etc. When you put the vapor rub on the feet, it stimulates the Lung Meridian along with the Sinus areas (under the bottom of toes). That is called Foot Reflexology, otherwise called foot rubs. I've also used Vick's Vapor Rub to get rid of athlete's feet, toe nail fungus, warts, cracks in skin. Works wonders!!! |

Kinda crazy, you are supposed to put it on your chest so the vapors are close to your nose |

Actually an international medical team recently reported that a generous coating of Vick's Vapo Rub on both feet then covered with a thick pair of socks stopped virtually all nighttime coughing and congestion. I found it hard to believe but mentioned it to a couple of my patients who said they tried it and it was miraculous.Placebo effect ? I don't know, but I will try it myself next time I have cough and congestion. |

I recently received an email with this information in it. I used it on my 2 year olds feet when she had a cough. It didn't seem to do anything at all. I have had better luck rubbing it on the chest. |

I've never heard of using socks before, but rubbing vapor rub on your chest at night helps relieve sinus congestion. |
