The best cure for your condition is that you must stop consuming sugar in all forms. Take 5 black pepper corn, 2 cloves whole, a small piece of Cinnamon stick, pinch of nutmeg and Mace powder, 7 Basil leaves and a small piece of fresh Ginger and boil them together in 250 ml water. After it boils down, drink like soup three times a day adding some jaggery for better taste. This will not only cure your symptoms but also prevent you from getting fever. Intake of honey and warm water is advisable. Inhale steam three times a day till you get relief.
Avoid cold drinks and ice cream for time being. Avoid chill weather and stay in warmer place. Cover your body with warm cloths if it is winter. Hot water shower is a perfect bath for your condition.
Press the finger tips and thumbs for better results. Apply Eucalyptus oil on your chest, neck and outside the nose, before going to bed for sound sleep . You need not to see a doctor.
Best of health,

the air and heat ducts could need cleaning. i had the problem of waking every morning stopped up. i built a frame that goes in the bottom of my window. it has i inch x six inch hole in it with window screen. i close my door at night and most of the dust and other yukky stuff goes out the hole. this is called forced air ventilation. you could also crack a window or simply close the vent. but, you must close the door. it's worth a try .

It is also allergy season. Did you get this last year? Eat lightly, drink lots of fluids, take naps and get lots of rest, use vitamins and supplements. There are juices out there that are Antibacterial, and promote wellness.

A steamy hot shower, and follow that up with the other suggstions.
Not only gargle with saline solution, but sniff or spray some into your nose.
Speaking of the nose, it has reflexology points
along the sides, so massage them from the base of the nose, up toward the bridge. I did this once and I was glad to be in a bathtub, because a wad of nasal discharge came out and drained my sinuses very nicely.

*For aches and pains accompanied by a fever of 100.5 degrees F or higher, take some Tylenol
* If your throat is sore, gargle as often as you like with salt water (1/2 teaspoon salt in 1 cup water)
* Avoid dairy products, which tend to make mucus thicker
* Take vitamin C in tablet form or eat an orange or drink some orange juice. The vitamins really help your system get stronger and fight the virus that causes your cold symptoms
* Eat chicken soup which has been heralded as cold therapy since the 12th century! Asian healing treatments often use hot soups to treat upper respiratory infections, making use of red pepper, Lemongrass, and Ginger in particular. Any food spicy enough to make your eyes water will have the same effect on your nose, promoting drainage. If you feel like eating, a hot, spicy soup it may help ease your symptoms.
*To further ease cold symptoms, the essential oils of aromatherapy may be rubbed on the body, inhaled with steam, diffused into the air, or poured on a cloth to be used as a compress.
Try rubbing diluted Eucalyptus oil on the chest as a Decongestant, or inhale Eucalyptus or Peppermint Oil to clear stuffiness. Adding Lavender, cedar, or lemon to steam may also soothe nasal passages. Inhaling Menthol not only provides relief from nasal congestion, but might help inhibit infection as well. Rosemary, Thyme, mint, Basil, and tea tree oils can also provide relief from symptoms of a cold. Use caution if you have asthma, since aromatherapy can trigger an attack.
* Take some Echinacea (in tablet form) which may help strengthen the immune system by stimulating the activity of white blood cells, but there is little evidence that it can prevent colds in particular. Several studies show adults using Echinacea at the first sign of a cold suffered shorter and less severe illness.
Because herbs are so poorly regulated and labeled in the United States, however, it's difficult to know if the product you're using contains the right species and active ingredient. If you decide to try Echinacea, take small doses for no more than eight weeks, since prolonged use may suppress your immune system.
Hope this helps and that you get better SOON!

One of the best remedies on the planet for the symptoms and cause of the common cold is Licorice extract. The stuff better than Cortisone for inflammation, is a mild expectorant, and most importantly anti-viral. So much so that a recent study done in Germany demonstrated its efficacy against SARS virus, and other studies (search www.pubmed.com) demonstrate it is effective against HIV, Epstein-Bar, Herpes, Influenza, and similarly aggressive viruses.

before you symptoms develop into serious events, do something strenuous like go running, jump rope, go outside and garden, etc. Basically, go outside and sweat. Sweat for about 30-45 minutes so your body can release and build more T-cells to help fight off the bacteria or virus in your system. you'd be amazed, i've used this method for years and it works for basic and common colds and some flu's. No guarentee but its worked for me and a lot of people I know.
