My right ears turning deff. What can I do to restore the sound?

JA'ANDREW	In reality not much. At this point you want to have a hearing test (it's easy and quick your hearing is checked through a series of frequencies) done as soon as possible. This will give you a pretty accurate status of your hearing lost, from there you will want to see a specialist to determine the amount of damage, if any (as we age some begin to notice a slight lost in hearing). In the mean time you should invest in some hearing protection. I would suggest that you don't use those spongy squeezable kind (because you definitely don't want to place anything down your ear canal) they're cheap, get the muff kind that covers and encloses your ears. mcdannells	My Mr. works in a mill and has to wear ear plugs. When we got together he went deaf in one ear. I asked him of his habits at work. He was not using new ear plugs but the same old dirty ones over again, yuk! After lecturing him about his hearing we got him in the tub and I started flushing his ear out with warm water. YUK!! All this crud came out of his ear, and he then could hear out of it again. Otherwise if there is nothing in your ear (bugs can get in there too) then there is no way to get hearing back. Why those ear phones people wear these days are so bad for a person. Good luck and hope you can just clean it out....Warm water will melt the ear wax inside. mr.answerman	If your hearing loss is due to loud sounds like rock concerts, IPods, Movies, car stereos, power equipment, and the list goes on. Then the only thing you can do is to attempt to preserve the hearing you currently have. The only way to do that will be to stop exposing your ears to loud sounds or the left one will also be going deaf. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

In God We Trust	First of all, you should visit a doctor that you respect and are comfortable with. He will give you a complete physical and give you any tests that you may require. Tell him of your concern with your loss of hearing. I am not a physician. Frankly, if I were you, I would deem my hearing to be too important to ignore. Do what you must do, but put the doctor's appointment first. If your hearing problem requires a referral to a hearing specialist, then go for it. vampire_crazy2003	First of all go to your doctor and have it checked. It may be blocked with wax deep down in the ear canal. This happens to me in winter mostly. When the doctor has checked it and it is clear you will need to have a hearing test. Then the audiologist will be able to inform you of how bad your hearing loss is and wether or not a hearing aid or an alternative device will be needed. Unfortunatly once the hairs are damaged in your ear they don't grow back. Hearing loss can be caused by other things as well such as nerve damage or viruses. quijibored	If you have an ear infection then you need to see an ENT (ear, nose and throat Dr) immediately or at least your family physician for some antibiotics. Don't mess around or the hearing loss could be permanent. If the loss is due to infection then possibly your hearing will improve after the infection clears.
