My mother suffers rumitoid arthritis she has pain every where, what can help? is there a cure?please help!!!?

mfleck17	My grandmother has it as well. There is no cure currently. My suggestion would be to see if you can get her into a trial for new drugs. Many of your major universities, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals are runnings trials for new drugs all the time. My grandmother is currently on one with the University of Utah medical center. She seems to be doing well. The arthritis has not gotten worse and she is able to move her hands and grip things. The one she is on, is an IV injection that has to be givin once a month. Orange Cloud	My mom has the same type of arthritis and she has taken Cortisone shots. They have very strong side effects but has been the only thing that has help her be flexible and have a normal life. The side effects affect the heart and the vision. The shots are only done once every year or every other year. She also takes pain killers and deflamatory medicine which helps her with the pain on a regular basis. She has gone for a lot of different homeopathic threatment; which are great but hard to keep up b/c they need a lot of discipline. She has received probably the most benefit from dietary and homeopathic treatments but they alter your entire diet, you have to take 30 drops about 5 times a day, can't have dark drink such as coffee or tea, etc. etc. It's a very deformative and hard to live illness and it has no cure. deedees77	there are all natural pills I started taking go to the wdebsite www.ganeden.com and you can get a free sample they are called arthritis advantage they will send you enough for 2 weeks. byedabye	My dad suffers the same, sorry but there is no cure only treatment. My dad is currently on steroids but on his 'bad days' he also has accupunture. poshbaby24	there is a cure for arthritis, try acupuncture, try going to a masseuse and heat will help a lot.:O) talk to your doctor and also find a wholistic practioner, this person is able to help her out naturally as opposed to a doctor giving prescriptions. lessen some of the load in her diet, that will help a lot and lessen the diary. drink lots of water and vitamins too. sunraeonesunrae	Not a cure,but may help with inflamation is cherry juice.I have read that cherry juice has anti-inflammatory properties. If you cannot find it in stores go to pomwonderful.com. Just drink a small glass per day.Also,if you want to really help your mom,while she is tending to her health problems,you could help her most by being around to do chores for her that she used to do,but cannot do now.Also driving her to the doctor would be great.Pick up medicines for her,clean house and sometimes just be there to talk to her. Someone who is sick can become depressed so do as much as you can to help her in those ways.Most people hate being sick and hate that they cannot do the things they once did with ease. Knowing that things around the house are getting done will help your mother to spend more time on her health needs. There is no cure for what she has so just help your mom as much as you can.
