No, but if your kid has a high fever for more than 24HRS you should definitely get them to an ER. If the temp goes over 103ish get help immediately! In the mean time offer them rewards for drinking water. Like "I'll put on the Barney movie if you drink this cup of water" Its the best thing for them. Remember Pedialite doesn't bring down the fever it is just for hydration. So give the kid water and some CHILDREN'S Motrin if you have it.

pedialite is simply a flavorful drink with electrolytes. You could probably just give him a little watered down gatorade and that'll do the same thing. I'd suggest giving about 12 oz. of gatorade for every 48 oz. of regular water or orange juice.

Pedialite is for dehydration. If your child is a baby, get him to the ER You can give Tylenol, but do NOT give Aspirin to any child under age 12!! If it's a low grade fever, (101F or less) give water or juice, but not orange juice-it will dry out the mouth. Most important thing is to listen to your instincts.

Mix 1/4 tsp salt, 3 tsp sugar, and 2 tsp lime juice into a cup of water. BUT, perhaps you should call your pediatrician to be sure you can use this and that he/she doesn't recommend another remedy.

peppermint tea works but if temp is higher than 102 go to doctor children's Tylenol is a good product temperature is defensive mechanism and is meant to kill germs don't worry if it is not to high some people use sports drinks but these can give diarrhea because of high sugar content do not try to give bath this old remedy can cuase shock or worsing of disease some kids can go into siezures with a temp this can be really scary and means GET MEDICAL HELP NOW

Any other symptoms or just a high temp?
Cos one of the symptoms of meningitus is a high temp.
Use a wet flannel on his forehead and keep him wrapped up, best to sweat it out.
But I think the best thing would be to goto a doctor.

Pedilite would be hard to make at home.. Lots of vitamins and so on.
I'm not even sure you can make it at home.
You are probably better off going to the store, or having someone go for you and buying some.
