Yes, I have used it many times. Think of it as one person transmitting energy to another person at the point of pain. I have used it on animals too. Imagine your body is a hollow reed drawing energy from the universe and then transferring it to the afflicted person. With a little practice, you can eventually feel heat at the source of the pain and know precisely where to touch.

I think I saw something about that on the news. People were healing someone by touching them and praying over them.

Touch is a vital part to the development of everyone. If an infant isn't touched enough they will actually die of a form of malnutrition. Many people suffer and don't know how to properly communicate with others because of a lack of touch. By being touched in an appropriate way they can heal their lives and thus heal physically, but this is an on going process that may take years. Like an abused man that marries a loving woman. They can work together in healing the things that have happened in his life, and making it better for their children. Thus there can be a great healing in their lives. So yes it is possible but it doesn't work the same for everyone, and yes massage therapists can be this sort of healer. Good luck!

The reason touching helps is because you are activating different nerve endings. Soothing strokes send messages to the pleasure sensor of the brain. Massages are touch healing.

Yes, although there are thousands of methods which fall under what you're saying (of which some work, some don't, some work for certain conditions but not others etc).
But simply put, if you're looking for things that project non physical energy to a patient from another person's hands, yes it's done and it's possible, but unless you see proof of it first hand you probably will have a hard time believing it.
