Is there any treatment for a gallbladder that is functioning at 22%, but has no gallstones, without surgery?
|
I had an ultra sound that showed no gallstones, had a HIDA scan and showed my gallbladder was only functioning at 22%. I have lost 30 pounds this year by watching my fat intake and excercising. I am very fat intolerant. It causes me indefinate trips to the bathroom and extreme pain in my right side. I am trying a natural path, taking enzymes and minerals and trying to go organic to a certain extent and it seems to be helping, but I am not sure if that is the route I need to be going. The doctor recommends I have my gallbladder removed, but I have talked to a lot of people who say that when they had their gallbladder removed, the pain ended, but the fat intolerance is still present. I haven't found anyone to ask if they have tried natural remedies, so I am just really confused about what to do.

Wow sorry to hear that. Well what I would do is go get other opions. Go see a different doctor if possible and ask him to refer you to a good herbalist in your area to speak with and or a nutritionist. Take little bits of advice from each and see what helps you. Good luck and hope you get better soon.

One must examine closely the symptoms presented and the determinations that have been proferred. The physiological rationale for bile is to create saponification (turn fats to soap). Most are aware of the purpose/response of soap enemas. Your report suggests there is plenty of bile to create this saponification process. It also would indicate you have more fat in your diet than you are aware of, to allow this reaction to take place. The fats not taken care of by this method (eliminated from the body), are then absorbed and taken into the lymphatic system.. not the blood stream.
Your symptoms suggest there may be other neurological problems being evidenced... Some symptomatic.

I don't go to health food stores, but if you can get cholic acid, Chenodeoxycholic Acid and Lecithin, that is the main ingredients in bile, which is what your body isn't making right now.

I would strongly recommend visiting a doctor of traditional chinese medicine. Ask people you know to recommend one or if they know anyone who can recommend someone. It sounds like there is more going on with your system than just your gall bladder. A TCM doctor will look at your whole system and recommend treatments to strengthen the "weak" organs.
This philosophy really does work as I was seriously ill for a year until I went to see a TCM doctor who treated me with traditional chinese reflexology and acupuncture. Because of my incredible recovery, I chose to learn reflexology from this doctor. I have used this to help my mother who has gall bladder issues.
There is a pressure point on your right foot that corresponds to strengthening the gall bladder. It is a bit hard to describe in words, but check out the chart link. http://www.dorlingkindersley-uk.co.uk/static/cs/uk/11/features/reflexology/extract.html. Unfortunately, the chart is a little bit different than the Chinese method of reflexology that I learned. But, if you locate the gall bladder point on this chart and then move diagonally up and to the right of the point, you will have the gall bladder point. Either way, it won't hurt to rub both spots.
Use your knuckle to rub this point, in a twisting motion, like you're turning your wrist to open a door. Do this for 2-5 minutes at a time, up to 15 minutes total per day. This will stimulate the gallbladder point, causing blood and energy to travel to your gallbladder and toxins to flush away.
The point will feel very tender to your touch, which is normal. As your gall bladder heals, the pain will go away.
If you can find someone who practices the Chinese style reflexology, even better. There is a western style, but this is not the same as what I learned and not as effective. I would not recommend it. A lot of Taiwanese people are really into the traditional Chinsese method reflexology. Maybe there is someone you know who can find this type of practitioner for you.

Try your hardest to save your gallbladder. I would recommend a gallbladder flush and avoid cooked fats. Rather try raw fats such as olive oil, raw cheese, coconut oil and avoid eating cooked fats. Take a digestive Enzyme with a lot of lipase in it to digest fat. Vitamin C will also be beneficial. See a good board certified acupuncturist and apply castor Oil packs to the liver gallbladder area every night. If you are female and taking birth control pills (hormones) I would recommend that you find an alternative form of contraception. Always remember that God knew what he was doing when he designed your body. It is a self-healing organism. We should never remove something before fighting with all your might to save it. .....Good luck!
