I've heard, but never had success with "St. John's Wart", I've had better luck with ensuring sufficient intake of Omega-3 fatty acids (fish and flax seed mostly).

No guarantee - but the book I am reading on muscles mentioned depression. It is The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. That is not what I was looking for but because depression runs in the family I remembered it. Even if not it is a good health resource.

There is something called TrueHope. They're a bit pricey, but they're all natural. You can check it out at www.truehope.com. They also call you regularly to ask about your dosage and how you're feeling. They're pretty much just vitamins, but they're really potent.

Depression is a mental problem. Adjusting your physical body won't solve the source of the problem. Have you heard of a movie recently released call: The Secret? It may have some clues for you.

reduce your sugar intake .... also fruit makes you moody ...
and get into an activity. 9-10 people are unhappy because they have nothing better to do. read join a gym ,dance... do a naked cartwheel in the livingroom so when you pass the spot youll laugh. dont watch the news ... and stay away from dramas.
I bet if you tried anyof these you wont be looking for otc meds.

YES! There are all sorts of options. Keep looking and trying stuff until you find one that works for you.

I was going to try SAMe but it was so expensive. I ended up using Mood Elevator (more concetrated one) from Nature's Sunshine (www.naturessunshine.com). I feel it by the third morning I take it...

GOOD LUCK!! :)
