My little sister has eczema on her arms and she used to scratch it all the time. But then I started using Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosqueta bar soap on her face and arms, also use a good organic moisterizer. She doesn't scratch her arms anymore but if we skip a day or two of the soap, then her skin gets very rough.
You can also try apple cider vinegar. I found this out on one of my favorite websites I'll list below (folk remedies/ holistic cures). I havent tried this yet, but you can read up more about it and give it a try if you like. Hope this helps you in anyway, Good luck!

No one here is going to believe me (they should) but I've had patients, especially small children, have severe debilitating excema completely.
It takes 4-6 treatments of upper cervical and thoracic Chiropractic. In fact I've never seen it not make a major difference.

You can try a product called Florasone, a homeopathic remedy that relieves the itching. You have to apply it often, though.
You could also consult with a naturopath and get tested for food intolerances, which sometimes show up as excema (as the skin clears the toxins from your body.)
For years my regular doctor prescribed cortisoid creams to treat my excema (due to allergies to dust). It turns out I was not allergic to dust, but intolerant to dairy and wheat. Once I cut out the wheat and dairy, within two weeks the excema had cleared up.
It's worth a try.

believe it or not when i was young and suffered from exzema i used to bathe in water and oatmeal ... i dont recall if it worked personally but my mother swears by it. REMEMBER Do a patch test first to check for allergies on anything you choose to use.

What works best for me are spray topical treatments: spray Benadryl and spray Cortisone have been very effective.

I have this problem too, but it is not as bad as before. I WOULD NOT recommend taking ANY steiroids to alleviate the skin or itchiness. The steroid creams and other ointments have side effects, and besides, they only work to suppress the immune system, not fix it. You have to go to the root of the problem and steroids just relive the current symptoms, not long term. I took steroids for a LONG time, and yes I admit it does help, but once you stop, the eczema flares again. I have problems with my growth and have had to visit a number of doctors to manage my growth (they think it was because of steroid creams etc.).
Almost all skin problems are caused by intolerance of food. I would check if you have any allergies to foods such as wheat, rice, peanuts and other allergens.
Not long ago I decided to try naturopathic treatment and it has done wonders for me. My skin is not red and inflamed anymore. The naturopathic treatment basically works from your inside out (first heal the gut then in turn heal your skin).
I have also tried using shea butter for my skin, and it may be oily, but it does keep my skin nice and soft for a long time.
Good luck!

I suffer as well, but the ONLY thing that has worked for me and consistantly works is a prescription steroid called "Fluocinonide". This stuff is magic, and has made me feel like a normal person with normal skin, so much so that I can go weeks without medication and not have any rash or itching. I only use it sparingly when I have outbreaks now, and I used to ALWAYS have patches of eczema on my arms, legs, face, and torso. Just so you know, you need to ask for this steroid by name, because doctors will always try to give you "Triamcinalone" which just never was effective for me. Best of luck!

my sister has that on the inside of her elbow, like on arm, and behind knees, we went to an herb specialist and she recommended accidopholis and candida. go to naturesunshine.com for these, that is the best brand. taking accidopholis is better if taken in pill form, because eating allot of yogurt can make you sick and gain weight. candida is something natural that kills the eczema in your body, probably do one squirt in the morning and afternoon. its a bottle you squirt under tongue, why under the tongue? because it is released into the blood stream even faster than pill form

Here's the answer you are looking for:
1} Dandelion greens are a good treatment for eczema because they help to give oxygen to the blood and build cells Eat in salads or drink in tea made from the root or leaves. Make the tea using 1 teaspoon herb to 1 cup bolling water and drink 1-3 cups daily. Just two days and you see the first good result.
2} Cucumber juice taken both internally and externally will help to clear eczema and skin eruptions
3} To treat eczema use hardboiled eggs. Cut open the egg and heat the yolk over a flame. Rub the drops from the egg yolk onto the affected areas. Repeat as often as necessary.
4} Finally, learn to control and better manage the inevitable daily stress
Good health to you.
