I suggest trying all natural Alfalfa Complex. Alfalfa is the richest land grown source of trace minerals. The roots of this perennial plant burrow deep into the soil and absorb the important trace minerals and elements such as Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, iron and phosphorous. Combined with Chlorophyll and other organic salts, these factors seem to balance the so-called salt system of the body and act as a natural diuretic.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

Ok, this is going to sound crazy but what you want to do is drink MORE water. Drink half your body weight in OUNCES a day and your cells will not fight so hard to hold on to the water it does have. Better than half of this country is dehydrated and they don't know it. (Formula: If you weigh 100 lbs, drink 50 oz of water a day.)

Hi Lilly. Your problem in medical language is referred as
Oedema (water-retention). Till you are waiting for
opthalmologist and cardiologist why not try safe and
harmless yogic remedy of mudra. Mudra is just finger
manipulation of both the hands to communicate with the
mind. There are hundreds of mudras. You have to learn only
one which goes by the name of JAL-SHAAMAK (water
reduction) This mudra is formed by first placing the tip of
the little finger on the base of the thumb and then bringing
Gentle pressure of the thumb upon this finger. This amounts
to suppression of element water (residing in the little
finger) by element fire (residing in the thumb). This mudra
reduces the water content of the body by suitably
affecting the water metabolism. It can, therefore, be used to
overcome water-logging within the body. When you
perform this mudra other three fingers should be kept
straight with palms facing upward of both the hands.
Keep it on your table or on your thighs and hold this mudra
for 45 minutes every day, either at one stretch or in 3 parts
of 15 minutes each at morn, noon and evening. You can
even do this mudra while watching tv or while lying down
with your legs raised. As for diuretics consuming one pearl
of raw Garlic along with your food with go a long way in
tackling this problem. You must consume raw Garlic at
your breakfast, lunch and supper i.e. three raw Garlic not
in one go please. I hope this will help you. Good luck.

Edema( retention of fluids in the body) can be caused by kidney, bladder, heart or liver problems.
You can take the following supplements that will help you:
Free-form amino acid formula( a protein deficiency can cause water retention)
B-complex with extra B-6
Alfalfa
Calcium 1500mg and Magnesium 1000mg
Silica(natural diuretic)
Herbs that are diuretic: Corn Silk, butcher's Broom, Dandelion, Juniper berries, Parsley, and pau d'arco tea. You can find these herbs in a capsule form. You can find them all in one formula. You need to drink plenty of water, and it's also very important that you take the Calcium and Magnesium because you loose minerals when you urinate frequently.

hi there;
try taking vit E (natural not the synthetic form) 400 i.u. or better take at least 1000 i.u daily for a week, then reduce it to 400 i.u, it works to circulate the blood in you in your veins. Also vit A 5000 i.u/ once a day for the eyes is needed to make your infection heal faster, these are anti oxidants by the way so in general they are good for you. Try also Green Tea, diuretics are also advisable and drink plenty of water too.

You need to drink lots and lots of water. If you do, you may be able to postpone your visit to the cardiologist. You are retaining water because your body's water regulatory system is out of whack, so its holding on to all the water it has. Yes, you are going to pee A LOT...but it will be so good for your health. Drink lots of water, and water ONLY, for a few days and see if things don't improve.

Until you see the doc I recommend Dandelion root follow directions on bottle don't take with doctors diuretics because that is what it is.Also take 1 B-100s.It works great on me.(take 3 540mg 3 times a day)Don't take Aspirin unless you are having a heart to save your life if you take it I may not work when you need it.

Because this is a medical condition I'm not sure you should take anything without doctor approval or recommendation. You should however avoid sodium as much as possible. Processed foods are high in sodium, ie: lunch meat, chips, crackers, canned foods, boxed foods such as mac 'n cheese, hamburger helper. And drink enough water. I would ask the doctor if red wine (thins the blood) would be good to reduce the pressure in your eyes.

The only thing to do is limit your sodium..............read the lables of everything you buy in the store as many prepackaged products are full of sodium and elevate your legs HIGHER than your HEART like the doc said. I am surprised he didn't prescribe a diuretic for you to help reduce the swelling. Call the clinic later today though and talk to his nurse to see if they have your referrals scheduled as they should have done that before you left the office yesterday.

Avoid sodium (salts). Also drink lemon juice. This is a diuretic and may help eliminate some of the excess water that you are retaining.
