Excellent cures of toddler constipation?
Anyone know of any natural very effective cures for toddler constipation. I've tried everything including prune juice!

apple juice, orange juice, 1 glass with warm water, raisins, try also a coke if you use a stool Softener it makes it work faster but just by it slef it helps (I know its not a good diet but it works) good luck

Glycerin suppositories, or homemade soap suppositories - I've been recommending them as they're probably the least harmful remedy for the habitually constipated child - if you're anxious that they haven't done a smelly for a few days, this is the first thing to reach for.

I found my toddler eating 3 raw almonds everyday helps her BM's pass smoothly and regularly. However, since you did not specify your child's age, I only suggest you feed your child almonds if they are capable of eating them without worry of choking, usually at least age 2 but every child is different. Soaking them for a good 8 hours will make them softer to chew as well. Don't remove the skin and only keep soaked almonds soaking for no more than 3 days, after that they are bad. And the almonds need to be raw for optimum use. There's also Almond butter (look for raw) that would be great as a Peanut Butter substitute if she can't eat them whole yet. And finally, almonds will no longer be sold raw after September 1 of this year, but steam treated or sprayed with some crap (organic guarantees steam treated).

Contrary to what Evita said above, bananas can be very constipating for babies and adults and unfortunately a lot of people feed their babies bananas never suspecting this. if you are feeding your toddler bananas cut them back or eliminate altogether and see if that helps.

make sure your little one is getting enough liquids. Constipation is a sign of inadequate hydration.

Also, don't give your child coke. You don't want to do this. There are more natural remedies out there that don't contain the caffeine, sugar and disproportionate phosphorus to Calcium ratio. Those in the know know that coke is bad for the bones and teeth and you don't want to contribute to your child's bone loss and tooth decay.

Have you consulted the pediatrician?? That's where I would begin. You might also try apple juice, that sometimes gives the bowel the push it needs. Does your toddler drink enough water?? Limit the amount of cheese the toddler takes in, cheese can be very binding.

Apple juice always worked. Make sure your toddler is getting enough water. They have child suppositories if it comes to it.

You can try apple sauce,and plenty and plenty of water,not pedialite or kool-aid but natural water.Is your baby actually constipated or just not producing a bowel movement.Adding cereal with your babies formula may also develope enough solids to produce a bowel movement.
Worse case scenario you can use any of the childrens enema products.

Your best bet is dark Karo Syrup, put some in the childs milk.
It will work overnight. (mild and natural too)

After you've done the Karo Syrup you can do the following also to help with the constipation.

1. Soaked Prunes:

Put however many prunes (3-5) you want to give your toddler in a glass of purified water and let soak in water for 3-6 hours or overnight. Let your toddler drink the water and eat the prunes. I'd do this every other day.

2. Oatmeal:

1/2 cup of Quaker Oatmeal
3/4 cup of hot water
1 teaspoon of honey, sugar or Karo syrup.
1 TBLSP of Quick chocolate
Choice of fresh fruit like blueberries, strawberries, etc.
No bananas- they are constipating!
(And so are Cherios, and dairy products like cheese and milk)

Put 1/2 a cup of Quaker oats in blender with 3/4 of hot water and blend it. Be careful with the top flying open. The hot water creates pressure. What I did was put a wet paper towel loosely over the blender then the top and keep your hand on the top as you turn the blender on. You can also add fresh fruit or chocolate. You can give this to your toddler for breakfast every day. Use your imagination to make it taste good for your toddler.
