BIG JD	I wouldn't worry about the sleeping pills if they are legal. Just inform the test people of what you are taking. A UA will most likely be done. If you are taking other illegal drugs, you might have someone fill up a condom for you with clean urine. LOL Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Faith	Some OTC meds do give false positive results in drug screens. They don't like to give out the information which otc drugs can cause this as everyone would claim they were taking them if they failed. But most definitely, some otc drugs can cause false positives on drug screens. Depending on the particular type test and the company's policy how they address this. I've worked for company's who only ask what rx meds you take. Then will call you if there is a problem to discuss any other meds you may be taking otc. Other places ask up front for any and everything you think you might have taken. Be on the safe side and ask or if paperwork is provided to accompany the specimen and there is a place to write it, put down whatever you took.. I can tell you I have heard of people who take nutrition supplements with hemp oil in them have tested positive for Mj. And even a common household spice poppy seeds can test positive for Opium/heroin. Over the counter cold meds especially those in Cold And Flu preparations can cause false positives for Methamphetamine. Don't know if what ur taking can show up as something else but ABSOLUTELY, some otc meds can cause you to fail a drug screen. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

lj1	It probably won't show up. Most drug tests look for heroin, Cocaine, opiates, and THC. Tell whoever administers the test exactly what you have been taking before you take the test just to be safe. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

sugarBear	Over the counter medicine is not considered an "illegal" street drug. The company will be looking for drug use of Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, Speed, Crystal Meth, etc. and all of the other illegal street drugs out there. These are just some examples. I don't think an over the counter medicine for sleeping is something to worry about. If they ask you are you taking any medication, make sure you tell them what kind & why you are taking it. staylow_311	There is nothing illegal about over the counter drugs. Now if youre taking certain prescriptions you should let them know at the time of the drug test so that they make a note of it and not be suprised when they get the results back.
