caffeine..but if you get really bad migraines it won't help..i get them and i take Excedrin..it's the best for migraines.

An old neighbor of mine was an elderly main from India. He swore that if you put a banana peel on your forehead, it would take the pain away. He swore by it!

There is an acupressure point on the mandibles (that's where the lower jaw bone is attached to the to the upper jaw). If you place your finger at this point and then move your jaw up and down you will be able to feel the jaw joint move.
If you it's the right spot will find it to be very sore.
As soon as you realise that you are getting a migraine? Massage this spot until the soreness goes, then try to relax the muscles of your face, by tighten all the muscles up,then letting them slowly relax.some times migraine is caused by your diet,grinding your teeth and some if they have been filled at any time the filling could be too high but that last cause is very rare because dentist always make sure that this does not happen.

A friend of mine is a beautician, and she would suffer from migraines so bad, that she would take very strong meds. and have to go to bed until it was gone. What she finally found out was the toxic chemicals she was using at her shop, and at home was causing the migraines. Hair spray is a big one, but she also found out the bleach, and other harsh chemicals that she used in her shop and at home were affecting her. She changed over to green non-toxic hair sprays, personal and beauty products, and home cleaners. Now she never gets a migraine!

Excedrin does help as well as lavendar oil as well as rubbing your temples and taking some deep relaxing breaths.
I find caffiene also helps my headaches and migranes. I have heard alka selzer also works.
Use caution with excedrin migrane, I was it taking a few years ago almost every day, and it gave me residual headaches.

Rest is the best remedy. Lay down in a cool dark room - remove any harsh light or distracting sound that might trigger or aggravate the headache. A cool damp washbloth over your forehead can feel soothing. Some studies have suggested that the smell of green apples (green, not red) can help soothe a headache (hey, it works for me).
If you're into herbal cures, any sort of soothing herb like lavendar can help relax you.
A migraine is very different from a regular headache, and needs much more extreme treatment depending on your specific triggers.
