thats a very tricky one because people get them for many different reasons - prevention is preffiable
if you do have one you'll just have to ride it out and lay low
the only things that i can suggest and hope that they help is to cut out all caffee from your diet and drink distilled water (not filtered or purified)
maybe also try seeing a natropath to see what they can do for you, take your blood test results and stuff like that..
good luck, know how painfull they can be

i get migraine headaches too and sometimes i found out that they are triggered by some preservatives in certain foods, i think that it is the nitrates that causes some headaches, such as if you have really greasy bacon... that can cause migraines. you can find out which foods might trigger it. or if you dont want to take all of that time.... ice packs and cold showers with a washcloth over your eyes can help. it also helps to be relaxed by taking a bath or listening to quiet music.
Hope i could help.

I have been getting migraines from when i was 10. and there is no sure fix. What i have found eases the pain often is putting ice in my neck...
other than that just a dark, quiet room and lots of sleep.

When I have a bad one, I have to have my head underwater- I'm not sure why, but this is the only thing that helps me. I draw a hot bath, as hot as I can stand, and I lay down flat in it and breathe out through my nose. I don't know why, but it works for me.

U can get temporary relief by sniffing JUST A FEW GRAINS of ground cayenne pepper. This actually works. Your nose will sting just a bit, but the migraine will weaken. Hope this helps.

I use Cranial Sacral Therapy for migraine headaches on my clients. Some clients have reported back to me that they no longer have to take their medicines, prescription and OTC. Others report only having migraines once every three or four months, and then they return to see me for another treatment. To find a therapist in your area, go to

I get migraine headaches, but since I am the CST, there is no one to work on me. I use Lavender essential oil, just one drop on each temple, rubbing in a circular motion. Sometimes, I carry the bottle with me and sniff it when I feel the migraine coming on to help stop it. Of course, sometimes, they still come on, so Lavender and sleep really works fine, too.

Home remedy for migraine is pranayam (breathing exercise). If you do not try you will never know.To convince yourself try for 8 days and then decide.Your migraine will disappear in 4 months if you do pranayam at the maximum timing. You will start to notice the benefits after 1 week. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later.
Drink some warm water before each session.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 15 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Anulom Vilom - Deep Breath-in through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
then - Breath-out through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then -Deep Breath-in through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then - Breath-out through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
and repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 min/day).
Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

the only thing that has ever worked for me is excedrine migraine. its OTC. you can only take 2 in 24 hours. i usually take one, then if it hasnt gone away in an hour i take the other, but it will knock me out. other than that, just water, no light, no noise and sleep help me.
some people say a little cola will help, others say cheese.
sorry hun, i know they suck
and to the person who suggested weed, i'm an avid pot smoker. it doesnt help. it MIGHT help lessen it if you smoke before its hit migraine status, but if its already that bad, it will not help. i've tried. a few times. and just ended up puking my brains out, or curled up in the fetal position cryng (which doesnt help)
