junewealthhealthsuccess	I take care of my mom, so I understand what you are going through. And while the meds help a little, unless the dose is heavy, they don't do the trick. Over the years I've tried to learn a bit of self hypnosis to keep calm and ease stress. What worked best was just to be calm and caring, hold her hand and let you know you love and care for her. While that might not cure the immeidate pain, the sense of well being it will give both of you is to be treasured. And while this might seem selfish... take care of yourself also. A health care worker that to me saying... "your mom depends on you, and if you can't help her, than no one will be around who can". Find a calm place in your mind, take a deep breath and think of peace and tranquility. I know that sounds like new age mumbo/jumbo... but it works. borderline	fentynal patches, Morphine and oxycodone are helpful but After using these meds the pain still exists, to help relieve my pain i take hot showers somtimes three to four times a day. On better days when I am sure I will be able to get myself up I like to soak in a hot bath.ALSO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT A 24 HOUR PILL, A Morphine LIKE PILL IT IS CALLED ADVINZA, Was this answer helpful to you? Panacea	One thing you should be very aware of is that chronic pain causes depression. It takes as little as two weeks for a chronic pain patient to develop signs of depression. After 8 months, your mom is highly likely to have this disease on top of whatever else she has (which you failed to mention what is wrong with her). Anyway, depression and chronic pain interfere with the treatment for each. In order to treat one effectively, you MUST treat both. You need a psych referrel from your primary care physician. bekki117	just have her relax...my mom is undergoing kind of the same thing. the meds don't help...it's horrible/awful, but there's not much to do except pray...hug hang in there. TURTLE GIRL	Well, my mother-in-law suffers from this too. Medicines do very little for her also...Chronic Pain is a pain that is seemingly unending....It is there for an extended amount of time, and sometimes without any medical reason....Be there for your Mom and realize that this is very real...although some may say it is in her head, it is not....Pain is pain, no matter what some doctors say....Good Luck and God bless you and yours. HmzWave	it def. depends on why she has this pain. she can try acupuncture. if the pain is sharp or achy, then it should be pretty fast to cure.. if its burning it may take a few more treatments. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
