If he is only smoking it on the weekends you should consider it a good compromise, since he is not a "pot head" if he only smokes two days a week. house_of_amon	I stopped. I have a friend that can smoke pot everyday for months and then just stop for several months when he doesnt feel like smoking. Many people simply get bored and stop, or they fill up their time with something else. Anyways, smoking on weekends is only occasional smoking. Az R	Depends. The addicts don't. Sometimes it stops working and they go and find something else. Sometimes they just keep using it. Easy way to find out. Tell him to stop or you're gone. Most kids give up in time but for those that don't it seems to be a lifetime of (increased) consumption with little regard for the (smaller) number of users who suffer psychiatric illness as a consequence of long term dependence. If "HE" is not ready to give up then he probably never will. If his habit bothers you that much then give him an ultimatum. Healer (not the dog kind)	More than likely too late. The people I worked with came for help after their world collapsed on top of them, That is usually the clue for them. Question to you, do you want to wait that long? Maybe if you put to him the question - the pot or me? That will wake him up. If he chooses the pot, then why would you want to stay with him? It sounds like the pot smoking issue is one of potential control-he refuses to quit and you insist on it. What drew you to him in the 1st place? If he is open to compromise maybe he can reserve an hour at night for getting high and spend the day with you sober and straight. Would that be OK?
