Hi dear one,
I work with a lot of nervous people. First, I have them rule out any medical reason for their nervousness. I am a hypnotist and a lot of general fear (just having the jitters kind of all the time) and specific fear (fear of flying, or talking in a meeting etc) are easy to fix in about 4-6 sessions.
My suggestion is find someone trained in 5-PATH hypnosis or learn 7th Path self-hypnosis, or best combine the two and those jitters will calm down so much you will be amazed. Why? because with hypnosis the subconsious mind can bring forward the emotion and information directly related to that nervousness.
Once your own mind brings the info forward the hypnotist works with your own insights using various techniques to nuetralize the CAUSE of the jitters. This is easy. A good hypnotist does this all the time.
Want to be a hypnotist who does this work? Learn the methods that once mastered put you in the top 1% of the master hypnotists in the world. To find out more google 5-PATH hypnosis Training in your area.

I've became fluent in taoist healing strategies and there are self improvement methods you can use to help your self. To generate charisma and bravery.
Calm your self down and stand up straight, but relaxed.
Close your eyes and imagine a pyschic tube from just
below your belly button
up to the centre of your chest.
Now as you breath in, imagine you are sucking in all of
the good air around you.
It travels from the centre of your chest down you 'pyschic tube'
As it comes back up you breath out and the energy comes out of your chest and it travels in circles all around you in a lush mist, the more you breath in the bigger the swirling gets.
The mist turns into a bright white silk like light, circling
around your body.
It travels further from your body, creating a safe area
around you, and anyone who enters that area will feel your strenght and bravery, and no-one can hurt you in your safe area.
Open your eyes and breath out slowly.

Yoga and meditation, meditation and yoga. If you are already nervous then meditation is gonna be difficult to start off with, so start with yoga for beginners that has meditative properties. I also steep a tiny bit of mugwort herb in my tea when I'm too anxious.
Life isn't permanent so don't take it too seriously, it's a temporary state after all. If you need help with the yoga then try this free online course.

My favorite exercise is some funky yoga that I can do from home, in fact I record a show called "Inhale" it's on the Oxygen network, it's not too weird and is great for both sexes.
I have also begun taking 5-HTP and L-Theanine. The 5-HTP helps calm you wihtout making you drowsy. In fact I was in the middle of a nerve wracking situation and took some and it really helped me mellow out! L-Theanine is an amino acid that is the same as found in Green Tea. It reduces feelings of stress and relaxes you. I take both of these wihtout feeling sleepy or "out of it".
Be careful with supplements and recommendations as Sam-E supplements are also recommended for depression and anxiety, but if you're nervous, I would say AVOID SAM-E supplements because they stimulate.
Diet wise I'm not sure, as I'm just now hopping on the alternative medicine wagon! After a very very bad experience with being overmedicated with prescription medicines, I have decided that herbal is a smarter way to go!
Good luck

exercise - Bikram Yoga (yoga in a very hot room), definitely helps me chill out, just because it takes so much out of you
would you ever consider changing your lifestyle into a less stressful 1?
maybe stay away from caffeine (if you're not already addicted)
if you have it every day, its a little too late
sounds corny but when Im stressed out I either go for a long walk, take a nap, go for a drive, just stop everything Im doing and let time pass

- stretching classes such as yoga, pilates, meditation to help calm the nerves and restore inner peace.
- try also some affirmations daily
- stay away from caffiene, processed foods with lots of preservatics (crisps / hot chips / chocolate bars / most takeaway stuff)
- drink calming teas such as Chamomile, lemon, Peppermint, jasmine and green. (standard black tea contains just as much caffiene as coffee)
- dont drink alcohol or take drugs.
- eat a balanced diet with lots of fruit and vegetables
- try walking daily for 15 minutes to clear your mind
- when you start to feel nervous or panicky, take a few deep breaths, imagine your self in a nice place
- there are plenty of methods to calm yourself that are alternative - crystals, pray to the angels etc.
- or you can try more modern options - counselling, hypnotherapy, anti-depressants
good luck.
