Generally herbal remedies should be avoided between the ages of 1 and 104 as they have little effect on most conditions and their long term risks are poorly understood and seldom tested.

Only if prescribed by a licensed dispenser at a Chinese herbal shop.

I would not give my child any medication unless a dispensary can tell you that it's been tested as to potency and proven to work for your child's symptoms.

Seek the advice of a Master Herbalist or an herbalist that has been practicing for a while before you do anything. They'll be able to advise you on dosages for conditions.

Some. But I strongly caution you against it. Kids are sooOooOOOO suceptible to ALLERGY problems. And 'natural remedy' often means...the FDA has not approved this for use, it could kill you but it's all natural so it's not my problem.

Don't mess with your kids' health. What is the problem? Perhaps someone here can suggest a remedy. I really, really urge you not to go giving a child 'natural stuff' even if it helps you.

I have taken more than my share of natural vitamins, meds..and more than once had my heart racing, or had diarrhea etc. Don't take chances in the name of nature or convenience.

Consult an herbalist! If you are giving your child a cup of Chamomile tea, that should be fine. But in no circumstances give them extracts or capsules. The dosage would be too high. I am curious what conditions you would want to treat with herbs.

depends what you plan on giving them.

a lot of herbal stuff is available now in child dosages too. you should be able to get advice from the store where you buy the stuff.

I would not advise it. Children are more vulnerable than adults, and most herbal supplements dosages are for adults.

CHeck with your pediatrician before considering giving them to your child.

That would depend on

1. how old your child is

2. if they have any known allergies

3. what you plan to give them

Remember, herbal medicine is STILL medicine, it has side effects, etc...

A lot of American herbal medicine has not been tested nor proven by the FDA, and some has been known to contain lead, etc. See an herbal practitioner before giving your child any herbal medications. As well, some of it contains lactose, and if your child has an allergy to dairy, this would not be a good thing to give them.
