Headache relief?

Well if you are looking for immediate relief, Excedrin Migraine is the way to go... Without popping that pill -- drink lots of water, try some Green Tea, put a heatpack on your forehead, etc...

If you are looking to prevent headaches, meaning you get them a lot, it most likely means your body is deprived of a certain mineral or vitamin. The most prevalent mineral in relation to headaches would be Magnesium... I had migraines for years and am taking a Magnesium supplement and I have been near headache free for a long time!

Here is a link to many herbal and natural supplements to help with headaches and migraines...

Best of luck to you

It depends on why your head hurts... You can drink a coke (for the caffeine) if it's a tension headache. If you're pregnant, taking Magnesium helps. Massaging or applying constant pressure to your temples should help a lot, as can relaxation techniques. But if you have migraines, medication (in additon to those other things) is REALLY helpful.

My Indian neighbor recommended putting a banana peel on my forehead. It really works!

Also, I usually drink a tall glass of water and that helps the majority of the time.

When I get bad headaches I try to sleep. Of course falling asleep is the tough part. So, I take a hot shower and throw in a shower soother vapor cube. Then I put some Vicks Vapo-rub under my eyes, and put a heating pad to the back of my head. The vapors open the sinuses, the heating pad relieves tension and relaxes your muscles. Also, a little chamomille tea helps too. And if that doesn't work, break down and takes some Advil.

Best ever relief I've stumbled across is to go cook up about 150gms chicken and eat it!! Chicken is chock full of B3 (Niacin) and to stay in good health you need to get at least 15mg of Niacin on a daily basis. Niacin is part of the b-Complex group of vitamins - so you should also ensure you are getting your daily B vitamins, as these vitamins work best synergistically ( as a group). Go get yourself some Executive Stress level b-Complex vitamins - Blackmores are a reputable range and I can attest to the fact they are good quality. Should cost around $30.00 (120 tablets) AUD. What price your health!! Naturally, you need to ensure that you're getting enough water on a daily basis and also that it's not simply due to caffeine / alcohol withdrawals first !! Get those B Vitamins into ya boy!!

How about chewing on a Willow leaf (from where we get asprin)

It depends. Headaches actually have a number of different sources, and remember that your brain has no pain sensors. So there is no one cure.

Use of reflexolgoy. Massage the tip of your thumb. Other spots are for neck and eyes.

Some headaches are from neck stiffness, so stretch and make sure you are using your computer in an ergonomic manner.

Oh, and turn off your computer and have a nice lie down.

If the day is hot, try a cool shower or just a cool drink.

Some headaches come from being dehydrated, so make sure you are getting plenty of liquids (beer will make your more dehydrated).

Relax, get a massage, listen to relaxing music.
