26 aspirins, 10 sleeping pills, and 14 iron supplement pills...?

This boy I know is telling people he is gonna kill himself by taking all of those at once. Would that kill him? =/...

Lisa J	This kind of threats are a huge cry for help. He needs help. He is seeking attention because he needs and wants help. If he wanted to kill himself, he would already have done it without announcing it. Which doesn't mean that he doesn't intend to do it. If he feels the situation is hopeless, he might do it! Get him to talk. Make him talk about his problems. Get him the attention he needs. Involve an understanding adult. Someone you can trust and who is going to talk this boy into seeking help. Involve a professional. He feels helpless and needs support. Don't panic and involve someone who can provide him with that support. All the best to you and to him! I sympathize!
jay_jay_9002	yes it could kill him especially the 10 sleeping pills. but the only way he would die from them is if he fell asleep after taking them. the Aspirin pills wont do much but give him a big stomach ache and the iron supplements might give him an iron overdose which could be fatal. if i were u id tell this boys parents and mayber even call the police. Try everything in your power to make sure he doesnt do it.

Dave B	There's a pretty good chance - each of the first 2 has a decent chance on its own and certainly don't combine well. I'm not so sure about iron supplements, but they appear to be toxic (at least in the case of children). jojammum48	Has he taken them? If so get him to hospital. The 10 sleeping pills might cause his heart to slow dangerously, the 26 Aspirin will thin his blood and the 14 iron pills (I am not sure about these). The combination of any pills in large doses is always dangerous. If he hasn't taken the pills he needs someone to get him help with a psychologist or psychiatrist or counsellor to help him sort out his problems.. Why does he want to kill himself?
deferno1	Well It's not going to do him a whole load of good. I would tell his parent's so they can and should take them to a psychiatrist. Talk to him! Don't let him do this, find out why he is so upset. Also tell him the afterlife may be worse than this place right now if there is one.
ens_imp	The sleeping pills, depending on the type, are the bigger concern for me. Iron supplements are not stomach friendly and its likely yourn friend would get nauseated and throw up but this is not the point. As others have said, what you need to do is tell a responsible adult immediately. Whether or not this particular combo coudl be lethal or not is irrelevant. The kid needs help and if someone with the ability to make him get or bring him to help isn't alerted immediately there could be disasterous results..if not today, then possibly in the future. You don't want to be looking back someday thinking..."if I had only told someone he would be alive." Find a responsible adult-parent, teacher, counselor, nurse, etc-and tell them immediately.
