You may not have enough relative humidity in the room, assuming you keep it clean and neat and clothes clean and tidy. In this case a humidifier can help your throat. It has helped mine when the room air is too dry.

It may be that your room is to hot. try opening a window or turning on a fan. Also look into getting a humidifier. Get some moisture into the air of that room it will help.
