My daughter always said the best thing about her dairy allergy was having to have After Eights instead of milk chocolate (and All Gold at Easter!)

My daughter has been allergic for 7 years now. I buy Alpro Soya lite. She has tried many and says thats the nicest. We also buy their yoghurts and long life desserts which are lovely. Full fat mayo is fine or the very very light one (lilac lable) but not the normal light one. We also use "pure" spread which is very very healthy for all of us. All available in your local supermarket. Watch out for many of the crisps. They have lactose in them. Any ready salted are fine.

I am dairy free and make my own almond milk. It is tasty, rich and delicious. Works well in smoothies, cereal and tea.

Almond Milk
2 cups almonds
4 cups water
1 vanilla bean (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)

1. Soak almonds and vanilla bean overnight
2. Discard soaking water and rinse almonds in a deep bowl of water, repeat until water is clear
3. Place soaked almonds, vanilla bean and 4 cups of water in blender
4. Blend on highest speed for 90 seconds
5. Strain milk through cheesecloth or a fine mesh paint strainer bag, discarding solids
6. Serve

Hope this helps. For more dairy-free recipes you can check out this site:
