You are most likely allergic to some microscopic allergins in the water. It would be specific to the region where you live. Their are special shower heads that can filter water for you. Also, consult a medical professional about the problem. Though possible, it is EXTREMELY rare for someone to be allergic to water. Like, extremely rare. I believe there have been less then 50 patients ever diagnosed with "water allergies" in the entire world. Make sure to just have a check up and the doctors.

it is virtually impossible to be allergic to water since water is nutritionless. that can only happen if you're allergic to hydrogen and oxygen which i highly doubt. but it might be something in the water. you should buy pH paper and test the water yourse;f and see how acidic it is, theres probably something in it making all those stuff happen.
question- why would you shower or wash your face with unclean water though? just a thought that crossed my mind

i dont think its posible to be alergic to water, because you need water to survive, it might be the chemicals in the water or depending on the temperature of the water.
go to the doctor just in case..
good luck

What do you mean unclean water? Water is water whether it come from the bathroom or the kitchen. And no as people nave stated you are not allergic to water. It could be chlorine that is in water or it could be the soap/body wash you are using. You might want to see a Dermatologist. Try a soap that is for sensitive skin.

Okay, I'm confused. You are showering in dirty water? You said it only hapens in unclean water. Rain can have anything in it. Your face red from a shower is either your soap or just the heat.
You aren't allergic to water. Your body is mostly water...

Water probably just gives you hives silly! It's impossible to be allergic to water because the only things in it is hydrogen and oxygen and you can't be allergic to those or you would have died a LOOONNNGGG time ago! ^.^

You'd be dead by now if you were allergic to water. Anyway, it's probably something in the water. Do you get it from a well, or is it city water? Well water can contain massive amounts of iron, and maybe that's what you're having a reaction to.

I have the same problem! ok there is what caused my problem:
I was alergic to the soap I was using!
My parents are devorced and I was used to the soap my mom used and my dad bought a different kind! When he bought the same ind of soap as my mom had at her house it seemed to fix the problem.
Someways that have worked for people that have commen symptoms were:
-Taking cooloer showers
-using sensitive skin washing powder
-Vitamin E oil all over the affected areas to moisturize to help with the dryness and itching
-Buy a shower head that purifies the water!
Here are some other reasons you could be itchy:
dry Skin: sometimes water dries out your skin
or
There is a rare disease called Aquagenous urticaria literaly meaning alergy to water, but this is so rare that only 30 people in all the world have been diagnosed with it! But it is possible. You can read about it here:

It's probably something in the water because if you were allergic you'd be dead due to most of you being water. Go see a doctor.

Is it well water in your shower or treated city water? I get a red face when I am in hot water but not cold. I also used to use a powder that made my face red when it got wet. But, you are not allergic to the water itsself. I have a health condition that causes a red rash across my nose and cheeks especially if it is hot or humid/steamy

Well, I dought you are allergic to water becuase us as humans are made up with around 70% water.
Perhaps when your drying your face after a shower and such, you are rubbing, which causes the skin to be irritated (try patting your face with the towel.)
Since the human body heat is fairly high (about 98º as the average) when the cold rain falls on the skin, the skin is all of a sudden exposed to this dramatically cold feeling, which I guess could cause red skin. My face gets red to in the rain.
Or maybe you are allergic to a metal in your water, have you ever heard your parents saying your water is hard? But that does include the rain.
=) if you were allergic to water, you most likely wouldnt be alive, the earth is near 70% water and we are made up of 70% water. =)

It is proboly a chemical in hte water or on another surface. Ask your dotor about these things. It depens what other things you are allergic too, if you are allergic to anything else. If you were allergic to water you would proboloy be allergic to air becasue half of water is air.

Mybe your not rinsing all of your facial cleanser or soap off your body. see a dermatologest and see if you need to get soap that is unscented. My older sister had to get all unscented soap for clothes and her body. There is no way that you can be alergic to water unless there is somthing contaminating your water supply. Just see a dermatologest and get your water chacked out by a professional. I hope I helped!!!

I would say it is whatever you are cleaning your face and body with in the shower, and when it rains I would say a few people go a bit red in the face, its normal.
As long as you can drink water without anything happening then I doubt you are allergic to it. If you were then you would not be alive right now.

Maybe it's something in the water......or in the shower, maybe it's the metal that the water runs through and than goes on your face.... ever thought about that? Maybe the showerhead has lead or something on it, and you're just allergic to that.
