Uses
Pyridoxine is used to treat or prevent pyridoxine deficiency.


Storage
  • Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight.
  • Do not store in the bathroom.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Symptoms of overdose may include tremors, sluggishness, loss of coordination, and seizures.

How To Use
  • Take Vitamin B-6 as directed.
  • Follow any special dietary recommendations made by your doctor or nutritionist.

Side Effects
  • Vitamin B-6 may cause tingling of the fingers or toes, reduced touch sensations, clumsiness or drowsiness.
  • Consult your doctor if any of these effects persist or become severe.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • If you have any health problems, consult your doctor before using Vitamin B-6.
  • Vitamin B-6 has been found safe during pregnancy when used at recommended doses.
  • Pyridoxine is excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for the next dose.
  • If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule.
  • Do not double the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: levodopa, oral contraceptives, phenobarbital, phenytoin, cycloserine, hydralazine, isoniazid, penicillamine, multivitamins.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
