Uses
Tioconazole-1 is an antifungal used to treat certain vaginal infections.
Storage
- Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Tioconazole-1 may be harmful if swallowed.

How To Use
- Tioconazole-1 is for vaginal use only and is usually given as a single dose.
- Open the applicator just prior to use.
- Insert the applicator high into the vagina (unless you are pregnant) and press the plunger to release medication.
- Discard the applicator.
- Use a sanitary napkin/minipad to prevent staining clothing.
- Do not use a tampon.
- A detailed instruction sheet should be provided with the medication.
- Review the instructions and be sure to ask your doctor or pharmacist should you have any questions.
Side Effects
- Tioconazole-1 may cause vaginal itching, burning, irritation or pain or painful urination.
- If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, contact your doctor.
- Notify your doctor if you develop: skin rash.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor your medical history, including: use of latex diaphragms or condoms, any allergies.
- The ointment base of Tioconazole-1 can weaken latex.
- Therefore, do not use latex condoms or diaphragms for 3 days after using Tioconazole-1.
- Avoid vaginal sexual intercourse when using Tioconazole-1.
- Tioconazole-1 should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is unknown if Tioconazole-1 is excreted into breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use.
- Avoid the use of vaginal douches while using Tioconazole-1.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
