Uses
Benzoyl peroxide is used to treat mild to moderate acne.
Storage
- Store between 59 and 76 degrees F (15 and 24.4 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Panoxyl 10 may be harmful if swallowed.

How To Use
- Panoxyl 10 is for topical use on the affected area only.
- Avoid using this in the eyes, mouth and nose, and on inflamed or damaged skin.
- The liquid wash or bar soap is used instead of soap once or twice a day.
- Wet the skin before applying this.
- Gently work up a lather and rinse thoroughly.
- Do not scrub the skin.
- Creams, lotions or gels are usually applied once or twice a day to the affected area.
- A small amount is applied to the affected area and rubbed in gently.
- Pads: Wash the affected area of skin with a mild cleanser and water then dry it.
- Next apply the pad, usually once or twice a day to the skin as directed.
Side Effects
- Slight stinging, dryness and peeling may occur initially.
- Expect this.
- However, notify your doctor if the following effects occur: redness, irritation, scaly eruptions, rash.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: other skin problems, any allergies.
- Panoxyl 10 may bleach hair and colored clothing.
- Avoid contact.
- Safe use of benzoyl peroxide in children under 12 years old has not been established.
- Benzoyl peroxide should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is not known if Panoxyl 10 is excreted into breast milk.
- Though there have no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- Use the missed dose as soon as you remember and resume your regular dosing schedule.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use, both prescription and nonprescription, especially: other skin medicines.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
