Uses
Pangestyme Mt 16 contains digestive enzymes which help digest and absorb foods. It is used to treat symptoms of pancreatitis or other various digestive disorders.
Storage
- Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and heat.
- Do not store in the bathroom.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

How To Use
- Pangestyme Mt 16 works best if taken with or after meals.
- Swallow the capsule whole.
- Do not crush or chew it.
- The capsule may also be opened, the contents sprinkled on a small amount of soft food (e.g., gelatin, applesauce) and the food swallowed immediately without chewing.
- Do not mix the contents of the capsule with alkaline foods such as milk or ice cream because the protective coating may dissolve prematurely.
- Antacids may hinder the effects of Pangestyme Mt 16.
- Do not take an antacid at the same time as Pangestyme Mt 16.
- Wait at least two hours between administration.
Side Effects
- Generally Pangestyme Mt 16 is very well tolerated and side effects are mild if they occur.
- Diarrhea, cramping or stomach upset may occur when starting treatment.
- If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor.
- Although very unlikely to occur, notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, severe stomach distress.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: allergies (especially to pork).
- Pangestyme Mt 16 should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is not known if Pangestyme Mt 16 appears in breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for the next dose.
- If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule.
- Do not double-up the dose.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
