This combination medication is used to treat certain types of acne (e.g., acne vulgaris, acne rosacea) or other irritated skin conditions. People who have low levels of nicotinamide, zinc, or folic acid in their body may develop, or be at an increased risk of developing, these types of skin conditions.

Uses
This combination medication is used to treat certain types of acne (e.g., acne vulgaris, acne rosacea) or other irritated skin conditions. People who have low levels of nicotinamide, zinc, or folic acid in their body may develop, or be at an increased risk of developing, these types of skin conditions.


Storage
  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

How To Use
  • Take Nicomide by mouth usually once or twice daily, or take as directed by your doctor.
  • Taking this product with food may help to reduce any nausea that may occur due to Nicomide.
  • Consult your pharmacist.

Side Effects
  • Nausea or vomiting may occur.
  • If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, fatigue, fever.
  • An allergic reaction to this product is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs.
  • Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver problems (e.g., jaundice), diabetes, blood problems (e.g., pernicious anemia), any allergies.
  • Nicomide should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
  • Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is not known whether Nicomide passes into breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.
  • If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not double the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: certain anti- seizure medicine (e.g., carbamazepine, primidone), quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin), tetracycline antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline, minocycline), vitamin products.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
