This is terrible. I would never, ever recommend this product. My husband is a family care physician and he is in shock at my pain level. He called me in a script. Hopefully he will never recommend the cream to anyone.

Side Effects
I began using the three-day treatment of the generic form of Monistat, along with it's accompanying "outside" cream. I don't think the first dose hit it's mark, but the other two were inserted corretly. The pain and burning were intense. Upon speaking with the doctor's office, of course, not him but one of his office staff, she implied "If it hurts that bad, it must be something else wrong." She did agree to phone in the oral treatment. Last night, I took the first pill at 6 PM -- no side effects, and relief already. I have a follow-up pill for tomorrow. The medical community needs to wake up and realize we are not lying nor imagining the painful side effects of Monistat and its generic side kicks. I would encourage all medical personnel -- don't argue with your patients -- simply listen to them! We know our bodies and at 58, I know a yeast infection when it hits -- especially after having been on antibiotics for a month before hand.

I used Monistat 3 two hours ago and I am still in pain. It is 5:06 am and I can't even imagine getting sleep. Upon seconds of inserting the cream I felt intense burning and pain. I have a really mild yeast infection and I'm not normally sensitive to medicine, so I don't know why I am feeling this degree of discomfort. I seriously considered going to the hospital. The only thing that somewhat relieved my pain is taking a hot shower and trying to remove the cream. I honestly would not recommend this product to anyone.

I used the Monistat one dose and within an hour of using the medication a severe burning and itching sensation incurred. The cream is extremely thick and therefore VERY difficult to try to get out once it is applied. NEVER AGAIN! My Dr. called in a diflucan pill for me immediately upon my call to her office!

Side Effects
Took the one day ovule a week ago; experienced extreme itching, which I then tried the external cream and that made it burn and itch even worse!!!! Yeast infection got better, but did not go away (my sister said the one day never worked for her either) so now I am trying the 3 day....itching began as soon as soon as I used it AGAIN!!! I'm done.

Additional Thoughts
For anyone who says these side effects are "the medicine doing it's work..burning the yeast away" they have no idea what they are talking about. NO, I did not have a 'severe' yeast infection, just a mild one, AND I have used Monistat before without these side effects. So for those of you who feel you can judge other's side effects, keep your opinions to yourself, I don't see anyone pointing fingers at you.
