meruvax Ii Meruvax Ii Vaccine W/diluent Uses Meruvax Ii is a vaccine against rubella virus (German measles). It is given to prevent or control outbreaks of rubella. Storage Meruvax Ii is stored in the refrigerator as directed. Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Photos MERUVAX II MERUVAX II How To Use Meruvax Ii is given by injection under the skin by a health care professional as a one time dose. Adults usually receive the injection in the upper arm and children receive it in the upper thigh muscle. Side Effects Most common is burning or stinging at the injection site. Mild fever, rash, sore throat, headache and weakness occur infrequently. If any of these effects continue beyond two days or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: high fever, breathing trouble, muscle or joint aches. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Precautions Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, infections, blood disorders, any allergies. Meruvax Ii should not be given during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Because Meruvax Ii appears in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
