Additional Thoughts
I took it for 7 months (no period for a year), then a year later took it again for 9 months (no period for a year again). I felt fantastic! No periods, no pain, could go to the gym and exercise, lost weight, wanted to have sex, migraines went away (did have regular headaches). I felt better those months than I had in a long, long time. However, when I stopped and my estrogen levels came back up, I had severe nausea for months - as if I were pregnant.

Additional Thoughts
I was very scared to take this drug. I am sure it affects everyone differently. I am on the add-back therapy also. I had severe hot flahes in my first 2 months but now in my fourth they have gotten much better. I also feel tired a lot of the time. I made sure to start taking a multivitamin and calcium, which I think helps. Although the two side-effects I described are bothersome...it is definitely worth it. I now realize that I didn't even know how much pain I was in until it was gone(after starting treatment.) I just always had pain and cramping so I thought it was normal. I feel good after only 4 months. I can deal with the side-effects for 6 months..if the result is less pain all of the time.

Additional Thoughts
My expereince of the Shots were horriable. My doc put me on them for 6 months for "Endometriosis". During those 6 months I have never felt soo horriable in my life. I was basically on bed rest the whole entire time. I barley got to work during the week couldnt do anything at all during the weekends. I was gettind depressed. My stomach pains and diharria and mood swings were effecting me extremely bad. After the horriable 6 months i got my period 2 months later and my cramps have been WORSE after the treatment then they were before. Since the shots my periods have been heavier and the pain is soo severe that i have ended up in the ER due to the pain. ITs horriable and i would never do it again it was a waste of $6000.00

night swests, mood swings -- depression, joint pain

Additional Thoughts
I have taken three of the three-month shots and am scheduled for a fourth at the end of August. I WILL NOT be taking any more of this medication due to the increase of side effects. It seems that with every new injection, a new side effect rears its ugly head. At first, I as grateful since my periods stopped -- I had had severe and extended (sometimes six weeks) periods which were beginning to debilitate my life. The OB-GYN had tried every possible medication to help me, and she finally suggested Lupron Depot-3. At first. I was grateful for the cessation of my periods despite the night sweats and insomnia I experienced. With second shotcame the joint pain -- primarily in my fingers. With the third shot came the knee pain -- so painful that I have a problem getting up off the floor. My fingers are now so swollen in the morning that it is painful to bend them. While the medication didwhat it was supposed to do, the side effects render it difficult to continue.
