Uses
Gel-Tin contains fluoride. Fluoride makes teeth more resistant to decay and bacteria that cause cavities. Gel-Tin is used as a topical gel application for the teeth.
Storage
- Store at room temperature away from sunlight.
- Avoid freezing.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, excess saliva, stomach pain, diarrhea, irritability, seizures, and loss of consciousness.

How To Use
- Gel-Tin is used as a topical gel to be applied with a toothbrush.
- Use once or twice daily after thorough brushing and flossing.
- Shake excess water from toothbrush.
- Apply gel liberally to toothbrush (cover bristle surface completely).
- Brush all surfaces of teeth for 1 minute.
- Be sure to swish gel around and between teeth.
- Expectorate (spit out) any excess.
- Do not swallow gel.
- Do not rinse mouth, eat or drink for 30 minutes after using.
Side Effects
- Gel-Tin may cause staining of the teeth or tongue.
- The stains can be removed by your dentist.
- Changes in taste can also occur while using Gel-Tin.
- If Gel-Tin is accidentally swallowed, stomach upset or nausea may occur.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: all illnesses, if you are on a low-salt diet, if you live in an area where the drinking water is fluoridated, allergies (especially to fluoride).
- This fluoride supplement is used when the drinking water contains low fluoride levels (less than 0.7 parts per million).
- Gel-Tin should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not "double-up the dose to catch up.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
