Omega-3 Fatty Acids - Oral


Omega-3 fatty acids, also known as fish oils , have been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, high lipid (fat) levels in the blood (hyperlipidemia), certain skin/scalp conditions (e.g., atopic dermatitis, psoriasis), ulcerative colitis, or certain blood circulation problems (e.g., Raynaud s syndrome). The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Uses
Omega-3 fatty acids, also known as fish oils , have been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, high lipid (fat) levels in the blood (hyperlipidemia), certain skin/scalp conditions (e.g., atopic dermatitis, psoriasis), ulcerative colitis, or certain blood circulation problems (e.g., Raynaud s syndrome). The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.


Storage
  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

How To Use
  • Take this product by mouth as directed.
  • Follow all directions on the product package.
  • If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.

Side Effects
  • Fishy taste, stomach gas (belching), nausea, or diarrhea may occur.
  • If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: easy bruising or bleeding (including nosebleeds).
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: diabetes, certain hereditary conditions (e.g., familial adenomatous polyposis), blood/bleeding problems, any allergies (especially to aspirin).
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this product.
  • It is not known if this product passes into breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
  • If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not double the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: aspirin, vitamin supplements (especially containing vitamins A and/or D), "blood thinners (e.g., warfarin), anti-platelet drugs (e.g., clopidogrel, ticlopidine), diabetes medicine (e.g., glyburide, insulin), cyclosporine, etretinate, other natural/herbal products.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
